    The biggest doe I ever shot measured a 41" girth . I stopped at the Avon DEC to have it checked out and the DEC person asked why I wanted him to check a doe . I said because it was big . It was real cold out but he reluctantly left his warm cozy office and came out . He measured it at 42" . According to the Weight chart it would theoretically weighed 184 pounds field dressed but he didn't weigh it . I got a lot of meat from that deer . Never shot anything that big again .

    Tractor Supply and Harbor Freight are magnets for me . It seems like my car goes out of control and pulls into their parking lots !

    Usually , but not all times , there is a greeter at the front entrance door of DICKs . If so , he should have stopped the woman . I don't see making the clerk ( in some of the above posts ) the villain . Some time when you are bored stick around in the store and see the a-holes they have to deal with .

    Bummer ! I was in a blind overlooking a gully pasture lot and a Laneway today . There was a light snow flurry a good part of the morning . Around 11 , I got out of the blind , walked to the woods , across the woods , through the thick stuff and back . Didn't see anything all morning . Drove to Geneseo village to use a toilet . Stopped to get something to eat and went back to the blind . All I saw all day long was a Red Fox . Heard shots during different parts of the day . I probably would have been just as well off sitting at the computer with my rifle . At least I would have been warmer .

    I shop at our Tractor Supply a couple times a week . Bought one of their Duracell Explorere headlamps for $5.99 . It is white light only and has 3 brightness options plus a flashing light . Liked it well enough that I went back and bought a couple more for stocking stuffers . They also have a lot of unique tools that you don't see in the hardware stores . They sell nuts , bolts , etc by the pound . If you shop at TSC , you have to check out their Clearance Items . Last year I bought an 8'X8'X7' high camo shed in a box for $110 that was originally $ 200 .

    Haven't seen any deer all day. Saw a beautiful red fox a while ago. Walked down to the woods. Across the woods and back. Nuttin ! I could have sat with my gun at the computer and have just as good of luck . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Not too pleased with the temps for tomorrow . 7 am - 22 degrees with the real feel temp of 5 degrees . It is forecasted to get up to a blistering 31 degrees by 2 pm . I would like to see the snow stop tonight as I don't want to leave home with a lot of snow in the driveway .

    I tried the Ranitidine and it didn't work that well . I had to take some anti-acid tablets also . When I know I am going to eat something acidic I should take the Ranitidine before eating .

    I have a few knives .... more than I need . I use a Ka-Bar Little Finn and a Gerber Easy-Open . I have a couple with gut hooks but never cared for them .

    I used to get it bad and took PREVACID which helped . I quit drinking tomato and orange juices as they are acidic . I get it sometimes when having anything with tomato sauce so I have to be careful with that even with Pizza .

    Soooooo , I went to Geneseo late yesterday morning . I set up one of those Dog House blinds next to a busted down gate where I can see quite a way across a gully pasture lot ( where I got a doe last year ) and a long way down the laneway . I was setup at noon and sat until 4:30 . Legal quitting time was 4:37 . It was around 36 degrees but felt colder . Never saw a deer . When I got out of the blind I looked down across the field where some guys have a double ladder stand with a camo skirt and saw at least 6 deer . In two years I have never seen anyone in this stand . I even told the guy that leases the hunting rights for that property and I guess he could care less . So , anyway , I plan to head back down there Saturday with the hopes that some hunters might be out and get some deer moving .

    I am still at it . Heading out to Geneseo around 10 am today . I figure I have maybe 3 - 4 more times to hit the Great Outdoors before the season comes to an end . I havn't gone back to Pittsford . I wonder if Mama's Boy is still wandering around with his crossbow !
