  2. Well Finally ! Matt and I went to met at my SILs property in Geneseo . He was running late so I waited for him . We got dressed and made the long walk to the woods are were there in plenty of time . We sat at least 250 yards apart diagonally across the woods and we didn't see any deer . Saw deer bed in the laneway and a lot of tracks on the way in . We decided to leave at 11 . I told Matt to go out on the trail and I would walk through the thick crap and see if I could push anything to him . He didn't go down to where I wanted him to and 4 deer hauled butt out of the thickets . Too fast for him to take a shot . We helped my SIL with a couple tasks and I went down and got my ATV and parked it under her rear deck . Then we headed to Mendon . I grabbed a coffee and we went to a spot where we have permission to hunt on RT 251 in Victor . Hunters were already there so we went back to Matt's property in Honeoye Falls . I got my youngest son's Savage 20 ga and went out back to the blind . After about an hour a small doe came out at about 40 yards . I rested the shotgun on shooting sticks . I had an insulated jacket with an insulated vest on plus my son had an additional recoil pad on his shotgun . It was awkward and uncomfortable to should plus I still am not used to the Accu-Trigger . I squeezed off a shot and the small doe dropped right on the spot . I let my son know I had one down and sat for a while longer . About 30 - 40 minutes later a large doe came out looking for her baby . I waited for her to get in the open and when she did I squeezed off another shot . She ran of full bore and I thought I might have missed as a doe went running past the blind full speed at about 15 feet . Matt came out with his ATV and wagon . I walked over to the small doe and saw a big blood spot where the big doe had been standing . I looked over in the direction to where she had ran and she was laying right on one of the trails . Got a two-fer ! The pressure is off . We hung up the big doe , skinned it and cut it up . Then we hung the small one and we went in the house for coffee , pizza bagels and birthday cake and then I headed home . Lost my camera somewhere on my SIL's property which was the worst part of the day .
  3. Moog should put a plow on that fancy truck !
  4. Thought I missed the big doe but I got her also. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. No luck in Geneseo. I kicked out 4 doe going through the thick stuff but they were going too fast for my son to take a shot .I just shot a small doe in my son's property using my youngest sons savage 20 gauge. Stock is too long for me as he has a pad on the end. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. My son and I are about 250 yards diagonally across the woods and we have seen nothing Saw lots of tracks walking here. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. Not too bad here in Geneseo. We haven't seen anything yet. Lots of tracks in the snow. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. My oldest son and I will be giving Geneseo a try tomorrow am . Not looking forward to the 22 degree cold at 7 am ! Not sure how deep the snow will be walking through to the woods . The walk is almost a mile . It didn't bother me that much 30 - 40 years ago .
  9. Looks like de Blasio wants to make NYC a Sanctuary City ...........
  10. When I first saw the Topic heading last week about "another racist being appointed" , I thought maybe Trump had appointed Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to an administrative post .
  11. I have used both models and never had an issue with either .
  12. How can he sell something that he doesn't own ?
  13. By any chance is that American Airlines ?
  14. Several years ago I bought a snow blower at WalMart . Got a call that it arrived at the Henrietta store . My son in law and I were hunting in Geneseo . He shot a small doe and so did my sister in law . When we got the deer up to where his Ford Ranger was parked , he said let's take these to the processor on Hudson and pick up your snow blower on the way . When we got to WalMart I finished paying for the blower and we went back to pick it up . The fork lift driver wasn't there with the key so I said , let's just lift it down and we did . Took it out by the sidewalk and Gary drove his truck over . We took the two deer out and put them on the sidewalk and loaded the blower and put the deer back in the truck . A few people had walked by , saw the deer and never said a word . A funny thing .... a guy with a station wagon was there to pick up a snow blower so we helped him get one down and carried it to his station wagon . When we got it on the tail gate , the box was about 1 1/2" too high and he thought he was going to have to leave it . I said that there is usually extra space in the shipping boxes and why not cut a couple inches off the top . We did that and slid it in the wagon . I asked what he did for a living and he said he was an Engineer at Kodak . Gary and I looked at each other and broke out laughing .
  15. Moog .... You have money . Drive over to Lowes and buy a new one . I did my driveway a bit ago . Some of that bottom snow was heavy . I had a TroyBuilt for about 8 years and had to replace it with another one . The associate said they only build them to last so many run hours . Anyway I have one of those hoods on the blower to keep you from getting covered with snow . It's the same one I bought in 2006 and it works like a charm . I was blowing the snow East down at the mailbox and the wind was coming from the west . The wind picked up and I thought it was going to rip the hood off and blow it to Williamson . Jim Doyle in Ontario does good work but he is usually buried with repair work . 905 Ridge Road 315-524-5966
  16. I would NOT go to those a-holes on 250 in Webster ( Precision ) . I have heard nothing but bad reports on them . I stopped in there once to get some parts and left furious . What about Titus mower ?
  17. My youngest son Nick and his buck .....
  18. My youngest son , Nick , and I met at the property in Geneseo at 5:45 am and headed for our stands a few minutes later . I gave Nick the choice of stands as he has a limited time he can hunt . He chose the stand that his brother and I put up last week and I took the willow tree . I didn't see a darned thing . Nick shot a doe and about 45 minutes later shot a big buck . It would probably be listed as an 8 point but had a tine broke of and a couple of half inch nubs so next year it might have been an 11 . I walked to the woods to see what he had and then walked up to where I was parked , got the ATV & sled and hauled the buck up to the trailer . Then went back and got the doe . I had to leave the ATV there as I was out of room . Showed my SIL the deer and then headed to Honeoye Falls to drop the deer off . Nick and Matt were skinning and cutting up the deer . It was getting quite overcast and I shoved off for home . Stopped at a cra was and washed out the sled and trailer . That was a chore . I would like to have hunted longer but it worked out for the best by leaving when we did .
