Veteran's I.D. card ----- what a crock ! I found out a couple months ago that some of the stores give a discount to Military Veterans and figured why not take advantage of it . I have a "Certificate of Service" that they honor at Lowe's in Webster but not Home Depot ( which I had mentioned before in another post ) . They will not honor that card at the Lowes in Macedon either . A " Veteran's I.D. Card " is necessary . After making several calls , I found out that the card is issued by County . I cannot go to Monroe County and obtain a card . It must be done in Wayne County . Well , Wayne County Veterans isn't doing that now and won't be until possibly September and they will do it in conjunction with the Wayne County Clerk . I guess they handle the I.D. card like pistol permits ------ by County . A lot of Red Tape !!!

I have a treestand about 80 yards down the path . I figured that if the deer could hear the little click / whatever from the camera tripping , I didn't want them looking up near the stand .

I havn't lost a camera yet and don't plan to . I don't have a problem putting a little effort into accomplishing what I want . I enjoy seeing what is out in the woods .As for the ladder , I keep it chained to a tree several feet away . If someone wants to shimmy 10' up a tree , they win the camera . I am only 70 so I can still carry and climb a ladder .

It needs something behind you so you don't show up against the background . I would put up some dark bamboo roll up blinds . Just a thought . Other than that , nice jog !

We stayed for a week in Old Forge . I had been riding the roads around home while wearing a helmet but didn't see folks wearing them where we stayed but wore mine anyway . I rode to Inlet and back . I was pumping hard coming up a hill and had enough torque on the back wheel that it pulled out and I crashed . My helmet slammed on the pavement and I would have busted my head open if I hadn't been wearing a helmet . I ended up bruising a kidney . I never wore a helmet as a kid but found it rather hypocritical to have my kids / grand kids wear one and not do it myself . I have a 14 speed bike and always wear the helmet .

Some good advice

I was installing & removing Real Estate signs today . I couldn't wait to get back in the car with the AC . We have AC in the house and I love it .

What is stupid is seeing a parent riding his / her bike with no helmet and riding with a couple kids that are wearing helmets . Adults can be hurt just as easily .

I know guys that stop off at the Restaurants for breakfast before heading to the woods . You can tell that they did by the smell of grease on their clothes . They aren't as careful as bow hunters in that respect . My opinion !

The Canadian Government isn't slack like ours ! I wonder if the Mexicans will string one of those cables across our southern border !

If he doesn't have his Passport , they will send him back the way he came . He had to be there when the Cable Company strung the wire . They told him that they would do it between noon and 5 pm ..

My NEF Huntsman shoots the 240 gr Hornaday sabots quite well . The Traditions didn't seem to like them . I am going to try them again ( the 240's ) with a different primer .

Trail cam pictures and actual sightings are my # 1 . Physical signs 2nd Cover 3rd funnels / pinch points 4th food sources last ---- the crops are usually gone and the deer are traveling to an unknown source

I was thinking about getting a Deer Crossing sign and put it in my SIL's pasture lot so they would go where I want them to travel .

I wonder how many of the hardened gun hunters will change their tune when crossbows are allowed in all seasons .
