Tip for buying "pistol ammo" at wal-mart. All the wally worlds i've been to sell "the shooters bible". If your buying ammo for a rifle that shoots a pistol round, flip open the book and show it to the associate. Has worked for me many occasions in the past.

I'm not trying to compair or choose between .270wsm and .270 win mag..... I was asking how compairable a contender is to a standard rifle... I was just using .270 as an example...

Thank you for your response! But not sure if we are on the same page. I;m wanting to compare a .270 win mag coming out of a 15" contender barrel Vs. a .270 win mag come from a standard hunting rifle barrel. Not .270 win mag Vs. .270WSM if that's how i made it sound.

I was thinking about a T/C contender or encore for the upcoming season and have a question.... How would a barrel, lets say chambered in .270 win mag, compare to a standard hunting rifle in .270? How similar would the ballistics be at about 200-250 yards? Being as my county still doesn't allow rifle hunting I was looking at these as an alternative.

Apparently if you bought the license and are missing the tag the DEC will send it to you.... I'll just have to wait and see i guess.

8m is only High for first choice not second.... Got 8M and 8N here. Love living on the line!
