  1. So we live on the north shore of Long Island. Been here in this house 20 years. In the last three years been seeing deer in the area. Took a walk this afternoon with my dog. Came across some buck rubs in a wooded area by the house! Now I'll start looking for sheds!
  2. I'll grill them like burgers. Enjoy!
  3. Wow, he is handsome! A good day in the field.
  4. We have a huge 8 pt living in a sump over in Northport. Be checking for his sheds in a few days.
  5. Towns where the most deer are killed 1-100. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/expo/sports/erry-2018/10/e2d2432bb95374/100-new-york-towns-where-hunte.html?fbclid=IwAR23E3HPS-i0FWkWd6lmOi_sHKLR5YCrKjaEvPpb-EPHHHsgBD_L1dcV6lU
  6. I can see what you are talking about but I read highway kill is more of a rut monitor.
  7. They forgot about Suffolk county! oops biggest upstate buck taken, my bad. lol
  8. I have a 2007 Tahoe. Have 227000 miles on it. 1st motor only went 197000. I love the truck so I put a refurbished motor in it. Knock wood tranny is still good.
  9. Merry Christmas to all my HuntingNY friends and family !!!!!!
  10. We had a tremendous amount of rain and wind on LI yesterday. It all ended around 8 pm. I wake up about 3 am today and it sounded like a jet landed in my backyard. opened the door and we had golfball size hail and a lot of wind for about 20 minutes. It was loud! Just looked front windshield of my truck has a crack. Sucks for me.....
  11. I have one of the originals before it was big. Probably a year or so before it made it real big the creator pitched it to our editors to be featured in our holiday issue. She left it with us and I was able to take him home. Still have it all together with a bit of wear. Who would of thunk it would be so big!
  12. It was a slow bow season the least amount of bucks sighted in a long time. Trail cams had picts of bucks so they were around. No deer harvested at bow and we had 2- 7 pts and 1- 5 pt taken at gun. My Niece's fist buck so that was a high point. In all a decent season. Something to remember the corn around my place was still up until late November. How it changed the hunting I'm not really sure.
  13. That last one is good Rob. I told my gang to write down things in a log book that they would like to do before next season. We would review it and plan a work weekend. I know I have mine written down.
  14. We all learn from our mistakes no matter how old. It was about three years ago I loaded my 1187 autoloader and held the action as it slid up into place. That morning a huge buck with a shot off leg hobbled right under my stand. Had him at 0 yards! lol the gun didn't fire. Action did not seat properly and that buck trotted away on three legs. I'll never do that again. I have owned that gun for over 30 years.......
  15. That or a house cat with its back hunched up.
  16. Right now I'm downstate. My house in Howard is very close to you.
