  1. What's a snow blower ...shovel?? lol
  2. Winds are pretty bad right now, everything closed down. 2-3 inches of snow this morning per hour followed by another 7. What I'm worried about are these cold temps Friday-Sunday. Could be a huge problem if power goes out! Be safe fellow Long Ilanders!
  3. Happy Birthday Doc! Not getting older just better!
  4. I took my order of White Spruce in the spring. I did not plant them in the ground at camp. I kept them in containers with really rich soil for the spring and summer. Planted them in the fall. Out off 300 trees probably 250 made it. This was 10 years ago from seedlings to some at 12 feet now!
  5. Same here. Probably late January for me...that is if the batteries make it!
  6. We got meatballs, sausage, ravioli, Stuffed breads and home made pizza!
  7. RIP Charlie.......his place was a stones throw from mine.
  8. Introducing Kit Carnesi an 8 week old female yellow from Close Corters Labs PA.
  9. Working on it, this time I did a liquid mineral pit so there's no evidence to the naked eye!! lol Probably won't see picts until sometime in January.
  10. What about this. Is it that most of us are using scopes on out guns that gather light making it easy to see the game and identify at low light situations? As I sit in my bow stand I know my limit is about 30 yards. Now when the light starts to fade and branches start to blend in with the forest ground I call it quits. I don't need that animal getting injured but it's only 30 yards away and I can clearly see it's a deer. Is it the optics that gives us confidence when the light goes dim? I know one thing you should not use your optics to identify your target. Thoughts no right wrong here.
  11. When we built the cabin I did all the plumbing in PEX. I installed many shut off valves and two nipples where I could hook up and air compressor to blow out the lines. It works great but don't forget the antifreeze in the traps!
  12. There's no antler sickness here. You see something magnificent out in the woods I would like to get a picture of him, knowing there were no reports of him being taken. When I hear the word "bait" it means I'm out there to lure it in and kill it. This is not the case. You can keep on preaching how ethical you are which is great, have at it but don't call me a baiter. I've been around a long time and have seen a lot of unethical practices in the woods. This my friend is not. So unwind your panties and move on. Someone talked about hanging cams over gut piles. We all know deer will lick at the blood of other deer and are attracted to it, but this is ok? I was warned about the heat I would take which is ok but really some of you guy(s)................
  13. Read he had a special permit to go after this bear. How does that work??
  14. Just to be clear I did not hunt over the apples and pumpkins. Just put them out in front of the camera hoping to see what was left on my property. I know NYS still has a problem with this.
  15. Deer are still eating apples off my trees.
