  1. I have always wanted to put in a food plot in this secluded area of my property. I have a small clover plot there and it sees a lot of action. I hired a local guy who does plots. It's going to be around 3/4 acre of clover and turnips with oats as cover. This area is bordered by woods on all side and the deer feel really secure here. Here is a picture, most of the brush there will be the food plot. He is spraying this week.
  2. Sorry for your loss Grampy, wonderful memories.
  3. Few years back I had a kid up turkey hunting. We heard gobbles down the back of my property. We set up and had this tom gobbling like crazy just couldn't get him to come in. While having breakfast later that morning my neighbor comes over and I tell him the story. He laughs and says my neighbor behind us got a bunch of turkey and a tom. We had a big laugh...
  4. Sure why not everyone else does…….
  5. Is it the first deer in the video? If so very cool looking mount, nice bucks right there.
  6. A few get shot every year on Long Island and you do not have to tag them because they are invasive. Story goes someone had an illegal herd on LI that got lose and started breeding….so the story goes.
  7. Headed out to SagHarbor today I saw 5 Sika deer at exit 68 on the LIE exit ramp. I saw two bucks and 3 doe. Pretty cool sight, much smaller than White Tail and very dark.
  8. Really nice, great job right there!
  9. spent the last 4 days at the cabin. Didn't see many turkey but my neighbor said he has seen plenty. Saw a bunch of doe and 1 set of fawn tracks. Smallest tracks I have ever seen. Hope it makes it through this wet and cold spring. Place is in good shape for the summer. Cut the lawn and got all the toys running. I did meet with the manager of the proposed wind farm and they cancelled the leases in my area. Seems as though they are getting too much opposition on the north side of 17 in Howard making it too expensive to run a transmission line. Oh well so it goes......
  10. Steady boys steady now…….LGR!!!!!!!!!
  11. Shoot me in the eye with a flaming arrow….OMG the rangers blew it!
  12. So here we are April 2017. 19 months after I purchased the route. I just sold it yesterday…….I'm very happy! Unfortunately I lost two stores in the beginning which hurt my bottom line. A&P went bankrupt a month after I bought. It was a difficult time but I hung in there but came to the decision that my life was being run by this business. Very limited time at the cabin and hunting season. Although my afternoons were free come 8:oo I was in bed cause I would be getting up at 3:30 am. Right now going to spend the weekend watching my kids soccer games and celebrating my Dad's 85 bday! Monday off to the cabin for 3-4 days of RnR!
  13. Sorry about Gramps…hang in there and shoot him a Long beard!
  14. Local guy that works at the dealership saw my brother in his truck. He questioned him about the frame, he knew nothing about it. They looked and it was rotted through in spots. Dealer has it now for the fix.
  15. Just an FYI on these trucks. My brother has an 05. It is in for another recall for the body frame rotting out. Dealer said its a $16,000 job to fix. Be safe…. http://money.cnn.com/2017/04/27/news/companies/toyota-recall-rear-axel/index.html
  16. Great work, how old was that buck? Great rack but his body looks like a 2.5, correct or am I totally off?
  17. Two years ago we had seats 1-4 at the garden that included the owners "bunker" we will never forget that night. Tickets had no value on them…….
