  1. I use them to see whats around thats it.
  2. Hope I get to text that to my buddies!
  3. This is a still shot from a video. Not the greatest. This buck is a natural 6 pt. He is huge, way outside his ears and tall. We named him Elvis.
  4. I texted the farmer and conformed it was round up. Will be in corn next year. They tried injecting manure in the middle of the summer but it didn't work. Horrible time to do that! lol
  5. I totally believe deer will detect your stare. I just try to move my eyes and not directly look at the deer. It's their 6th sense. Great you brought this up because it happens all the time.
  6. So my Farmer sent in a big tractor and sprayed two fields with round up. Clover was't doing well. My question is will the deer know not to eat the clover? They have been pounding it every night. Just a thought for you guys. Also be interesting to see how the action is just inside the woods where we have a camera.
  7. NY never had a system like that. State Troopers would have random deer check stations set up on the highway or by the bridges leading into the City. Honestly I think these businesses would not like the problem of hiring someone to check deer, unless the DEC does it.
  8. I just ordered these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CL6GG31T?psc=1&smid=A201QTUB47UTJE&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp
  9. Yes that tree got hit one year and I put an end to it. Probably this weekend I'll protect the bottom. I'm thinking crab apple also. Thanks!
  10. Berries or apples keep getting bigger every year. Lots of them also.
  11. I'm actually going to game dinner in Howard this Saturday. I'm sure I can get info there. Thanks.
  12. I like that idea. Problem is I have 3 other bows that I have tried to find a young hunter and came up empty. It's a shame.
  13. The DEC gave such lame reasons for doing this. Reducing their carbon footprint. Now all we talk about is plastic bags that will end up in the landfill.
  14. I just ran up to the barn. It's a Bear Whitetail 2. Yes all that stuff weighs a lot but still capable in taking down a deer. Funny there was a box of Eastern arrows with it that were fairly new. He must of just got them before he died. 2018's cut to my length. I shot a few and they did fine. May I take a nice buck this year with one of his arrows. He hunted 4O and 3 J. Pretty close to where I first started out in 4P.
  15. At my brothers 60 th birthday party my niece walks in with the two bow cases and tackle box. She says uncle Jeff and Burt you have to look at this stuff. Her neighbor was moving and had all of her deceased husbands bow stuff in the shed. My niece said her two uncles would love it so here we are. A tackle box full of all types of things. Two bows a Golden Eagle and a Bear compound. Back in the day the Golden Eagles were the bow to shoot. I just may hang them in the Barn as a tribute to a fellow Bow Hunter. His last license was in 2003-04. Cool stuff, jump in if you have any suggestions or knowledge of the bows. Also some wicked broadheads!
  16. Turned a corner yesterday afternoon in my Hay field on my quad. Came face to face with a bear at about 30 yards. Took 5 seconds for him to run. It was pretty cool. Looked to be about 125-150 lbs.
  17. Just make sure your name is on the deer when going to the processor. You know how that works.
  18. I'm going to say something and take it or leave it I think it pertains to what 4seasons is saying. I have been here since the beginning this site developed nicely. Things happened and people got crossed. So they left and now we have this place to ourselves and manage to be pretty civil and stay on topic. There is a wide range of topics in the Forums. Pretty much a place to post about anything. This maybe a personal thing but I don't like when a topic like "what's for dinner tonight" has some one posting all their meals at high end restaurants. I think a topic like that should relate to some type of game dinner. I really don't care if you ordered a 3 lbs lobsta (lol) in a fancy place. Show me the roast you smoked for 10 hrs! I'm using this as an example and you might think its petty. I guess in the end a Forum like this has to be open ended. You will get all types and have to deal with them. Like Doc said just don't respond or overlook it. Cranking down on it will shut people out. (yeah I know no new members). BTW heard Biz broke his leg mowing his lawn. He always ate at these fancy restaurants thought he would have lawn service! lol
  19. I think most that left were on here daily. Sure it's nice to not have the useless banter but the fact is this site lost a huge amount of members. That is not good and with no new memberships it's a recipe for disaster. Enjoy it while it lasts.
  20. I just moved 2 Cannon safes each over 500lbs. We used the tractor with heavy duty straps and got them onto a small Dolly. My buddy said it would hold twice the size. I was amazed.
