  1. Hey guys, I should clean my stove pipe this year. Now I'm on a website "old wood stoves" its pretty cool. I asked and some guys say they don't clean it. Just have a really hot fire will do it. Others say you should do it every year or every third year. Any thoughts on the subject and how would I do it from in the house. My pipe is just too high on my metal roof to get at. Thanks, FL
  2. You know there is 15,000 acres to hunt on that hill. There was no acces point to park a vehicle just drop off places for snow mobiles and hikers. Now 30 years ago there were fields we would back into. Set up camp, even the boy scouts were there. It is so much more difficult now. I don't want to think about about 100 years from now. My girls get my place and in my will we be something said about preserving this place for future generations like your Father has done for you. Roscoe looked beautiful but trying to access it to hunt these days is a joke.
  3. We didn't border the river but it was at the base of Morton Hill road. We would drive the Trike (lol) down there and fish. First time I taught my girlfriend to fly fish she catches a big brook trout! Yes it is beautiful. They were hit hard with the rain last week. Talked to a work crew cleaning up downed trees and such.

Doc its not just this forum. I get them at every other site I go to. Yes very annoying.
  5. Coming home today I had some time to kill so I drove through Roscoe. About 35 years ago I owned a Cabin up on Morton Hill road. We sold it in the mid 90's. A lot of family hunting up on the state land off of that road. Boy has it changed but then again 30 years is a long time. Fields where we would camp are now hard woods. There isn't even any area you could pull you truck off to camp. Woods have grown right up to the road. Some of the homes I recognize but many are new. My place is there in fact I just saw it listed last year for sale. Time sure marches on and waits for no one.
  6. In Howard, I saw a video from my neighbor last year. I have yet to catch one on camera.
  7. Erie and Niagara insurance. I go through DomSam in Hornell.
  8. I was told 25 and over needs a separate policy.
  9. Birds came through again today. I hope its a different group because I'm seeing less Poults. Such big Hens!
  10. So with all that rain I had some drainage issues. So I cut a swail in along the back of the house to let the water coming off the corn field find its way around my house. Can Turkey smell new earth!! lol They were just on it pecking away 10 minutes ago. Really nice looking hens.
  11. Howard, between Bath and Hornell. Beautiful up here just me and my neighbor on the road. Check out the new picts.
  12. Hey I enjoyed that. That guys Dr. Dolittle! lol Hope your wife is ok. I had two big nests at my house this year. 1 under the deck which I just spayed. The other was in the roof of the front porch. I got stung on that one. Had a welt for about three days on my neck. Black hornets.
  13. Tractor coverage is typically not included in standard home insurance policies and must be purchased as an add-on. This coverage provides protection for your tractor in the event of theft, damage, or other covered perils. When considering tractor coverage, it's essential to understand what is and isn't covered. Just looked up online most say you need it added on.
  14. So I had a fire a few years ago and thankfully was fully insured. So after talking to the adjuster he said to go higher on my home and barn/guest house. I did that and I suggest everyone review their own policy. I have ARC Actual replacement cost on my policy. They give you the present value of the loss. OK back to the tractor. I have an 1835M Massy value around 32k. I called my insurance company and asked if it was covered under home owner insurance. It was not. Anything over 25 HP is not covered. That is what I was told. Now I'm insuring it for fire or a malfunction and it burns in the field. Any thoughts on this, love to hear them. $395/year.
  15. Had some friends over for breakfast! Flock looking good! About 20 Poults off to the right in the shadows.
  16. Is Stewart forest in Westchester? I remember a few of the old members here hunting that.
  17. Same I have a laptop but no printer.
  18. I also want to see if once you print will it let you print a second or third time. I can see it locking you out and having to call DEC to tell them why you need to print again. Scenario I shoot a deer and tag it. Process it myself but do not call in game harvest. It's now in my freezer and I print the tag again and shot a second deer on the same tag. I don't need to do this but there are some out in the wild that will try.
  19. And then the deer hangs for a couple of days and goes to the processor. Gets moved around there also. Things happen, moister and paper ripping is going to be a big problem. If I had my own printer I would use a stock thickness like a folder. Punch the tag and reinforce with those round stick-on support thingies. Ziptie or wire will do.
  20. I buy online. Thought they would mail paper copies nope. You have to call for that. I don't have a printer and I'm not buying one. I'll stop at the local gun shop and buy there.
  21. Yes showing up daylight hours. Honestly I haven't seen so many deer up here in a long time. 4 sets of triplets in the area. It's pretty cool the one set that visits my property are getting real big. Mom is doing a good job with them. I've noticed spots are fading on them. Thanks
