Doc you want spooky? If you have an Alexa in the house or just have a conversation on your phone about a product, vacation destination or such, ads will start popping up on Face Book about what you talked about. That is spooky!

Licenses Ditching Plastic and Going with Paper
First-light replied to airedale's topic in General Hunting
What sense does it make to even wear a back tag? You don't wear your fishing license? License in wallet is good enough. I've been at myt place 17 years only once did I run into a DEC officer. Checked tags on my deer never askmed for license or back tag. It's silly. -
Yes and she loves it! DJ did a great job!

Looks big but always out something in the pict fro perspective. Checking traps two weeks ago I found bear tracks. Then again we have three up here that were orphaned. They could be wondering around.

Yeah I have often thought about getting everyones email. Just in case this site shuts down. Part of my morning ritual!

Many old abandoned websites are still up because the domain has not expired yet. The owners may have forgotten to renew it, or they may have deliberately allowed it to expire. In either case, the hosting service will eventually take the website down.

Buck fights, bad shot with an arrow maybe barb wire?

Remember that picture someone shared this is very similar. Check out the healing power of deer! From a FB site.

That's crazy!

Checking my traps yesterday two deer let me get 20 feet from them on the quad. I agree with you they get used to it and doesn't bother them.
-
I agree with you but being a land owner and letting a stranger on my land I just can't do that. It's just not safe. I need to get to know the person and get the right feel for them. That's my choice. Once again I'll say new hunters get to shoot what they like then better yourself the next year. Worst thing you can do is dictate to a new hunter what size buck they can shoot on your land. I believe in QDM but let that hunter get there on his or her own.

I've mentored a few kids that didn't have anyone to take them hunting. Have one coming up this year. My neighbor has a bunch of Grand Children. They all get a shot at hunting. They put the work in and he takes them along. In short I agree with the above and give an opportunity to someone and take them hunting is key.

Going to give Trapping a try!
First-light replied to First-light's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Does this count??? -
Spring this year she shot a 21lbs bird. They decided to have it mounted. Man did it come out nice. DJ's Taxidermist in Avoca did the work. I have had a number of deer mounted by him and never disappointed. The bird is just amazing!

Going to give Trapping a try!
First-light replied to First-light's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Funny you said that. I had my guys with me when I checked that trap. They went nuts on the set. My older one with a really good nose started to track into the heavy brush. We went 75 yards but I called them off. I went back and spent an hour or two looking aound but didn't find anything. I will keep that in mind next time. Thanks. -
Going to give Trapping a try!
First-light replied to First-light's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I kind of thought that but didn't want to say it. Thank you that lifts me up a bit. Still at it and really loving being in the woods again. Right now my neighbor and I have trapped 1 skunk and 3 possums. All his, I'm still a virgin and need to pop my trap!
