My neighbor has been working a patch of hogweed for 2 years. He called DEC and talked to them but they never came out. He has been hitting it with ground clear and finally has killed it off. Last weekend I did a bunch of mowing and trail mowing. I made some new paths out in my bottom field. I did not see any hogweed but after coming back to the cabin my nose and throat were burning for a while. The thought crossed my mind that I hit a patch of this stuff. It went away in an hour so I don't think it was Hogweed.

I just recently saw a picture of a home-made feeder. 8 inch pipe about 8' long zip tied to a pine tree. The guy filled it up and had something on the bottom to regulate the corn coming out. Thing was only one guy posted baiting is illegal. Everyone else liked the idea or thought you could bait. They even went so far to say the DEC encourages the baiting. This is in a high density deer area downstate.

Doc, That is a bear doing that. The pole will need replacing soon, they hit that pole all the time.

That would be members of the G.I Joe Adventure team!!!!! I found my certificate and framed it. It now sits up at the cabin. Has to be close to 40-45 years old. So proud of that thing!!!!

Here are some picts from the weekend. That is the trail mower that I fixed up. Ran great and I did all the trails and the front field with it. There is a picture of the oats I planted, the bear pole (he is really hammering it), my burning barrel with some interesting prints on it, view of my top field and a sunset. A great weekend for sure!

Left work at 5:00 and was walking in front of Fox news building. They are folding up the large American flag that flies in front of the building. People walking back and forth just passing by. I see one old lady she had to be 90 staring at the men and the flag with her hand over her heart. I stopped and watched I was in awe of her patriotism. I thought to take a picture but said no I'll just let this be. God bless her, the generation she lived in and this country!

They do this on Long Island. Shoot a doe and go back for a new permit. They are more than happy to give them out. You have to bring the deer to the DEC station. They look it over and weigh it. Years past we would wait on the does and not shoot for a number of reasons. For the last few years I tell my gang shoot the first nice doe you see. This is important for hunters who travel a distance to their camp. You never know when you hold out on those permits and then it happens that you can't make it back to camp or all you see is yearlings. Opening morning by 10:00 we had three doe and one buck hanging.
