  1. Nice picts. 10 and 11 have some issues with the camera, my camera does the same, you know why it is?
  2. Amazing I have heard about stories like this. Guys meeting grouse at their stand every time out hanging around wait till a deer does that.............
  3. Have a good trip! Deer will be here when you get back!
  4. My brother set up a ladder stand at the bottom of my property late summer. Last weekend I kicked around the idea of hunting out of it. Got down in the afternoon and had wind gusts to 25mph. This area is wet with a lot of runoff from the hill. The tree is swaying back and forth and I'm getting a bit uncomfortable. I look down and see the roots of the tree exposed. I look around and see several trees fallen, all looked like the roots were exposed at the surface. I got the hell out of there and put the stand off limits. Could you imagine having a tree fall and being tied into it with your safety harness!!!! yikes!
  5. I like settling in and listening to whats going on around me. Nothing you can do do if you walk in and bust deer when its light out, other than say should of been here a half hour ago. There is nothing like sitting in your stand for a half hour in the dark listening to the critters all around you. Cold still morning and you can hear deer off in the distance making way to their beds or two bucks sparring, love it!
  6. My brother will be at the cabin Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. He is dropping his daughter off at Cortland and finding his way over to hunt......
  7. Too blurry no definition to the horns. That pict is a lost cause, sorry.
  8. He is missing his right front hoof, got to be 6.87 year old buck, get with it!
  9. Nothing will help that. I'll try but don't expect much.
  10. Photoshop. Levels, exposure, curves whatever you like to use.
  11. Plenty of good food in her area. What a wonderful deer to chase, good luck!
  12. Ok I opened up the picture. He looks like a hog. Again its not the best quality but that is one fat deer.
  13. Phade have you always been a sarcastic jerk all your life?? You were just so sarcastic to that guy on the other thread, who has only posted here 12 times. Simple question about putting out scent. Way to go, I'm sure he will be back real soon.
  14. Guys got 12 posts to the site and he gets a sarcastic response from Phade. Way to go Phade that will keep them coming back. Get off your high horse dude...........
  15. If you have a buck that comes into your scent before light and he doesn't wind you odds are he won't be far when you can shoot. Even if he goes out of sight a couple of calls could bring him back. Much better than getting busted putting them out when light. Good question, but if you do all your preseason scouting correctly you will know where to put the scent when you go in the dark. Good luck!
  16. I won't get out of the stand once there. I do it before light when I go in.
  17. Not about being right here Phade just stating the obvious which you missed. You were real quick to bring Sam into your camp when most of us said 3.5 or younger. lol
  18. I just don't see how some of you guys can say he is definitely over 4.5. The picture sucks, you can't tell by the angle and quality of photo, simple as that. Nobody on this site is Dr. Deer, lol.
  19. Making the right choices goes a long way. As I neared the 50 mark it was time to change up the diet and introduce more vegetables. I was always big on the greens but had to add more to the diet. They play a huge role in my diet now along with oatmeal.
