First-light

Well it was a slow morning windy and about 46 degrees. Until 3pm we didn't see a thing. 3 pm I have a big doe and 2 fawns 20 yards and they wind me. 5 pm I see a doe and fawn and another fawn that was running around without a care in the world. Brother caught him on video and this yearling just ran and ran! Very weird but we have seen this before, maybe lost its mother? My neighbor makes it two years in a row to harvest a deer with a recurve. Ill send picke when I get home but it was an 8 pt that answered a soft call that met his demise. Crazy he shoots all his deer within 15 feet! Back at it tomorrow.

If I were a newbie checking out the site and I saw the thread titles about Threatening other members, I would hit the high road. They both should be deleted and certain people should clean up their act.

I feel like we poured "stop leak" in the radiator. It will be good for a few months and then the process starts all over again. This is a sad day in American politics for sure.

Bass is up and ready to go. Brother will pick me up at 2pm in the city and we should make camp by 7. First time up this year, feel like the season is a month old already! Hope I get a look at that wide 8pt this weekend, then again any deer would be great. I have internet at the cabin so I should be able to update and post away. GL this weekend folks!

Don't get what your asking here? The fields that my neighbor and I lease to a farmer were plowed under this week.

You know that could be true. This is the first time the field was plowed under during bow season since owning it. My BIL said the same thing. We shall see.....Yes we have sets in the woods.

Just got word from my neighbor that our clover fields were plowed under this week. That will definitely hurt me on one side of the property. Still have standing corn on the other side.

Yup that will be next month.

BIL has gone down the road with wood for many years switched over to coal about 10 years ago and never looked back.

My hunting time is limited and with this moon and the potential for mid-day movement I'll stay in all day.

From what I have witnessed mid-day activity should be pretty good around this moon. I'll be in all day Friday and Saturday. Never know what could happen.......

Thanks-a few of us who rent to the same farmer have been talking about kicking up the price. Between my parcel and my Neighbors he farms about 150 acres.

HectorBB, Is that the average price/acre? I lease in Steuben county and get 20/acre. Your right about the ag assessment, probably cuts my taxes in half.
