  1. How much property does your group hunt G-Man?
  2. It's social media, post something and you better expect all kinds of responses. (especially if there is a picture or video showing something illegal) You can view it as being too harsh but these guys are stating the obvious. I noticed the corn buy didn't say anything. I also knew that there would be some comments about the illegal corn and OP better have some thick skin. Hunters are some very passionate people.
  3. 1-2 for myself. Best year off of my 56 acres was 5 deer between 4 hunters.
  4. Call them "Widow makers" in your case "Widower makers" hope your OK.
  5. Now that a deal was cut with the Russians do you think he was smart enough to include the Super Bowl ring???? lol
  6. Seems like we are the early birds around here. Just thought I would start off my 3001 post with you. That is unless someone spoils the fun.......I'll be up at 6:15!
  7. This thread has been going on for a while, but I have to say I'm a morning guy!!!!
  8. I live one town over, there are so many geese, let 'em fly!!!
  9. To each their own but I like the venison straight up!!!!
  10. Had one like that last year never saw him during season. probably the one doing all the breeding!!! lol
  11. I have to say after seeing that first photo, there was a time about 20-25 years ago I was on a ridge in the Catskills. Dawn was breaking and there was a sliver of clear sky between the horizon and the clouds. The sun shined through there for about 5 minutes and lit up the forest like it was on fire. i will never forget that moment and really have never shared it with any one until I saw your photo. I don't know why I never shared that moment it was amazing .......................
  12. Folks, In the last month or two I have seen a couple of trailers with quads on them. The trailer is swaying back and forth, it looks so unsafe. Does anyone know the cause of this? Just a guess but I think the tongue is too short, just a guess? (These trailers are small, FYI)
  13. Some good points here: Is it Safe to Refreeze Thawed Meat ? Question: I thawed some frozen steaks for dinner tonight, but now I’ve had a change in plans and don’t have time to cook them. Is it okay if I refreeze them? Answer: It’s fine to refreeze the steaks — as long as you thawed them in the refrigerator. If that was the case, you can put them right back into the freezer (see here for detailed advice on how to freeze them). When you eventually thaw the steaks a second time, you may notice a decrease in quality, but they’ll certainly be safe to eat, according to the United States Department of Agriculture. If, on the other hand, you thawed the steaks in the microwave or in cold water, the USDA advises that you should cook them immediately before freezing. That’s because with either method, the steaks could have at least temporarily warmed up to a temperature higher than 40°F. At that point, harmful bacteria can begin to multiply and only further cooking will destroy it; simply refreezing the steaks won’t do the trick. Finally, if you thawed the steaks on the counter or in hot water, you shouldn’t eat them at all. The USDA cautions that it’s dangerous to eat any meat or poultry that’s been thawed under those two methods, as the outer layer of the food would have been allowed to sit between the bacteria-breeding temperatures of 40° F and 140° F for far too long to be safe.
  14. Good luck with the hunt, nice Yurt!
  15. Cool picts Eddie. Here on Long Island we are having more and more deer show up in backyards that you never would of thought a deer would be in. They are feeding deeper and deeper into suburbia using power line routes from bigger wooded areas.
  16. Monster deer!!! Good luck hunting him Woodchuck!
  17. I love the climbing sticks. I just tried the small ladder sections that individually strap to a tree but wasn't impressed.
