    First-light replied to G-Man's topic in Deer Hunting

    A big buck to me has to have one of two things, big antlers or body size. Forget about points that doesn't matter. You get both of these things on one deer, you have a deer of a lifetime. To each his own.

    My place is loaded with bears. Brother shot a doe some years ago and left it where it died (50 yards from him gutted) continued to hunt and a mother and cubs came around to check out the dead deer. We had a hard time making them leave at dark. It would be nice to carry it for that one reason.

    It only takes a few seconds to speak words of encouragement. Those words may forever change them. Good piece Jordan.

    I don't go overboard with anything. I will do a bleat call to attract a doe or small buck but that's about it. I start using scent around the 3rd weekend in October. Anything can happen in the deer woods, I have had deer come into scent early season just a small percentage though.

    Looks great! I made some cutlets in Ray's sweet vidalia onion sauce yesterday. It was real good. My daughter shrieked when she opened the freezer only to find 2 lbs of chop meat and 3 packages of cutlets! That was funny, my girls just love venison!

    Out of 4 games we won 2 had a tie and a loss! They played great, this is her first travel season. The party for my Neices boyfriend was awesome and this old man at 50 now can take off his bucket list a keg stand! Enjoy the day everyone!

    My Father inlaw always said you see turkey and the deer aren't far behind. Has been true for me, deer seem very comfortable around turkey for some reason. Looks good Grow.

    Staying local. My 9 year old has a soccer tournament. Saturday is a surprise party for my nieces boyfriend who ships (Coast Guard) out to Bahrain for a year.
