Love the muzzy product. Taken many deer with that broadhead. I did hear they were bought out by another company, any news?

Good looking bear.

If I had to look back and say what I would of done differently it would be a full basement under the main cabin. We now have a 16 x 20 extension with a full basement off the right side.

Nice, good luck filming. Nice to have your hands free. My brother is doing the same this year. Bought a new setup that goes on the bow.

Looks like the Columbus Day Youth season is on!
First-light replied to Buckstopshere's topic in Deer Hunting
I bow hunt and would give up that weekend if I had a kid who wanted to hunt during the youth season. I've been there and done that with the bow mentoring kids. No better feeling seeing them put the hammer down on their first deer. It is a great experience. So your wrong on that one Bubba, I bow hunt and would give up the weekend. -
It is so easy to make that mistake. This point needs to driven home every hunting season. Thanks for bringing it up and I hope your pain-free one day.

I don't see many bitching about wearing a bit of BO. It's the smart thing to do. It saves lives and if you that worried about it spoking deer wear the breakup pattern. deer see orange as a gray, if it's solid orange well, they see a big grey area. If you think about set-ups this early season, bowhunters will be around the edges of fields and food plots up in trees. If I were taking a kid out we would set up in a blind overlooking these food plots, probably looking at the same area the bowhunter would be in. Be safe and sensible out there. Try to know who is hunting in the same area. -

Not debating it, I just feel It could of been handled better. Don't get me wrong I'm in favor of it and will let oldest one have a crack at it in a year. Yes the three day weekend is nice for the kids. -

This is ridiculous. Why didn't the DEC just make the youth hunt September 29-30. Would of put a lot of this horse crap out to pasture. -

Columbus day will be here and gone before you know it. I just think it sucks that it is the first weekend of bow. Too many hunters in the woods. Most of us will be hunting field edges and so will the youngsters. I hunt private land and know who will be around, those who hunt public land be careful. I think we are all making a big deal outof this and it will be here and gone in no time. There will be that monster buck shot by a 14 year old for sure, that will be a whole other thread! lol -
Don't blow a chance at a big one just because you want it on film. Been there done that!

Agreed Doc. I have the whole series, very educational.

Great pictures and info on the trees. I did a search and it seems a lot of guys do the same as you. Buy from Walmart, selection and size is real good. Thanks -
If you are in your stand and someone walks in get their attention with your flashlight. It should make them move on to another location.

Make sure you tell him you want the meat deboned. He did a couple of deer for me and had the "no frills" job done. It was an ok job on the butchering, excellent on the taxidermy work.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/16/us/new-york-green-on-blues/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 This is close to home. I feel for all serving in our armed forces going through heart-wrenching situations like this. This family from Oceanside I send my condolences and to the rest of the families in the same situation I do the same. Get our kids home and do it now. Enough is enough, when will our government learn we can't police this entire world. God bless my friend sending his 18 year old off to the Marines. I don't know if I could do it..............

What an amazing deer. This is why we do it! Good luck getting a crack at him this season.
