    Today was my buddies Birthday. He was up here all week with his wife and son. Last hunt this morning. I got up and noticed the frost on the ground and said its a killing day. He comes trhrough shooting this really nice doe. 2 year old son totally into it!

    From 3:30 till dark I counted 15 doe around me. I pulled up on one that was close. She immediately looked up and ran off. Always tomorrow.

    Saw a couple of Doe last night then about 5:00 a bear walks in. Not the one with Mange. This was I guess 2 -3 year old about 200 lbs. Real good looking bear. He wondered around at 50 yards and never came closer. He drifted off after 5 minutes. Hope to get a shot at him. Just real good looking and I'm guessing being young the meat would be more tender?

    No idea been a long time since I came across one that tough.

    I won this crossbow at the Canesteo police benefit this summer. He took the time to put it together and site it in. 60 yards right there. Love it!

    So two days in a row we had doe come into the stands and had a buck push them around. Both nights the bucks made a coughing noise, not a snort but some type of cough that sent the does running. Any ideas on what this is?

    Anything is possible. For sure there are early and late breeders.

    Cycles do start early and go late. On Long Island there is a January shot gun hunt. Fawns with spots on them come into the check station. This is Long Island and the Biologist said the cycle is a bit screwed up on Long Island.

    Friend hunted the new lease today and had 7 Doe and a big buck come by. Did not get a shot on the buck. I saw 4 Doe and about 10 Turkey. Great day in the woods with all this wind.

    One Columbus day weekend a few years ago I had a big buck chasing a doe.

    No deer for youth hunters on our hill but they learned a lot!

    I hope one of us can shoot it. I'll probably just dig a hole and put it in it. I've put out the word to the neighbors also.

    Just read the disease doesn't kill the animal but winter and no hair will. It's a shame.

    Neighbors Grand daughter got the shakes on a nice buck this afternoon. He lives on. I told her it still happens to me. These girls are doing like 8 hrs in the stand a day! So proud!

    My neighbor had his two grand daughters out. At one point they had 16 doe in front of them. They are both holding out for a buck until Monday rolls around!

    My Niece just texted. Her son got into trouble at school he will not be coming up for the youth hunt. Wise ass kid has no respect at times. Good for her to turn the screws to him.

    Still makes the noise at random timers but decelerating does bring up the issue. Going to send the video to Arkport Cycles.
