  1. I agree Doc-it's all nit-picking.
  2. Actually I was told by an outfitter that a big clumped turd like the one in the picture is from a buck that is in the rut. Some type of hormones running through his body do this. That is what I was told..take it or leave it.
  3. Well if that's an arrow it's sure not an amazing picture, kind of pathetic if you ask me. Yes I know all kinds of things can go wrong when launching an arrow, just wouldn't call it amazing................
  4. No way you can confirm an arrow in the head from that picture. Dude where are you, what is up with the picture???
  5. I don't know if I would of taken that shot, maybe maybe not. Too complicated a situation to put yourself in. He took it and made a decision and stuck by it. He could of very well started tracking the deer and jumped it a few times and pushed it into the next county. Hunting is a difficult sport, you know what's right for you, live by it. I don't think he was wrong, just my opinion. Is it just me, as a group since bow season started we have wounded more deer than normal? It just feels I'm reading a lot of stories of wounded deer not recovered? This could mean a whole world of things but I'll leave it at that.
  6. Steve loaf or Doe loaf they look the same!m lol Could be Big Buck loaf, especially when the rut is on.
  7. Continued- big buck comes in at 15 yards broadside the one you have had your eyes on all summer, it's a chip shot or is it?
  8. Wny, What's your take on the single ladder stands? Why are you moving towards the hang-ons? I have my own thoughts about the ladder stands after using them for a while.
  9. Bought my bow from Arnot, nice people. Yea Cornell does own a nice piece over there, runs right along the road.
  10. My nephew texted me late last night so I didn't get to talking with him. He said there is more to the story. erussel my nephew told me the guy started doing this 5 years ago and learned how to do it by reading a book on the subject. That is wild, I'm sure you can do it! Yote damage was bad, they tore the back end to pieces. BTW when the little dog found the deer he tore into it also, nephew said you had to let the dog have its time with the deer and then the guy called him off.
  11. Guys, Well they found it but not after the coyotes got to it. Deer by all accounts would of been 200lbs dressed. It's a 6 or 7 pt don't know if the browtine counts. The dog was put on the trail and didn't lift its head until it found the deer. My nephew said it was amazing how this dog worked. The deer was found in the thicket where they last had blood. I'm glade he found it, he really put in his time to find this animal. A big thanks to the guy (I'll get his name and number) and his dog! This is my nephew's first with the recurve, I'm really excited for him.
  12. Very nice, lots of eats!
  13. No I don't think so. I believe he had blood most the time.
  14. Hey, Nephew just called, someone from the DEC is bringing up dogs to search for the deer. This is what he told me. He made a few calls and the guy on the other line told him you better be sure that the gut pile was from your deer, it's worth double checking on a deer this size. What the hell, guy offered so off they go. Should be in the woods in the next hour or so. Like deer search they use Dachshund dogs to find the deer. Guy told him his dogs have found deer on 5 day old tracks. Weather been good so maybe just maybe the gut pile was from another deer and at some point my Nephew picked up the wrong track?? I'll keep you posted, if he finds this deer it will be an amazing story.
  15. Will do guys, thanks for all the support.
  16. No he didn't check the pile, he is pretty upset, this sucks.
  17. Thanks guys. Well it ended with him finding a gut pile this morning. Tracked the deer to the place where he died. Found no arrow at the site. So it goes at least someone got him. Sam thanks for texting him.
  18. I find myself having the same problems. The more time I have the worse off I get. Good advice eddie.
