Years ago while bowhunting I shot a 6pt. The arrow deflected and I did not see where I hit the deer. The deer reared up on it hind legs, hit the ground and then staggered off.
I got down and found the arrow. It was bent at probably the 8" mark from the broadhead and only had blood on the fletchings. Blood covered all the fletchings but none on the arrow or broadhead. I had no blood to track either. After looking for hours for this deer I did find a small puddle of blood a few hundred feet from where I shot it but never recovered the deer. I can't figure this one out, can you?
Cool Fletch. Love seeing those Eagles. I'm on Rt 17 for almost 4 hrs and I see alot in the western Catskill area. Word of caution about the eight, I would hate to see him do the vanishing act on you, never know at this point when he will lock onto a doe. Good luck!
Gang,
Heading up this Friday night. I have my 15 year old friend with me and Brother. We will see if he repeats last years success! Weather looks perfect!
GLTA,
Burt
Zemm,
You know as well as I, just when you least expect it BAM! Hang in there my friend! I'm coming up late Friday night and staying until Tuesday evening, I'll give the shoutout as I drive by. This weekend looks to be real good.
I have noticed that some of you guys hunt with your shotgun or rifle first day then switch to smokepole. Just your preference I guess. I new one guy that went back to the bow after 1st day.
I made some posts on this picture yesterday thinking it was a fake. I think to really make a fair judgement about the picture we really need to see some others. You can't tell by this picture. I've retouched over 25 years and to think you can make a call on a low res phone image is absurd! Steve show us some other pictures and I'll be a believer, I'm skeptical but if it's the real thing WOW what a monster.

Thanks Faigame, Bigbuck we have the same layout! Bath is behind the kitchen. We heat with a gas stove which does a nice job but I have an electric heater in the bath when it gets real cold, below 20 with wind. All the plumbing is back there and I had the cold water line freeze one night. I sent you a message about the plumbing check it out.
Something you will always remember. I had help too and I never forget the ones at hunting season, they get first pick at stands. It also was a great way to
meet people of the community and give them business. I just love the place and the town it is in!
Here are some interior picts. Kitchen and floor was custom made by a local guy, Floor is ash and cabinets hickory. Ceiling and walls are shiplap which was very affordable.
It took about 2 yrs to finish well worth the wait.
