Hubby got one this morning. The first bird is being mounted. Total time in the woods for both birds 45 minutes!

Heard one gobble that was it. My Sister in law score with a 21 lbs bird. 9.5 " beard and 1 " spurs.

Tomorrow morning looks to be real good. Ill be in the edge of the woods with two Hen decoys in the field. After sunrise what do you guys recommend with what call I start with? Or should I wait to hear a gobbler first. Its been a while would love to hear from you guys. I use a mouth call.

I have 3 20' Muddy ladder stands on the property. I turned 60 this year and my Brother inlaw got me a new stand. I told him I'm scaling down on the height of new stands. He got me a 17 foot stand. Not that 3 feet makes a difference if you fall from the top but it works! lol

That is so cool. Can't wait to follow next steps!

I'll be out Saturday morning. Been a while since I Turkey hunted hope to do well. I keep hearing that Tom in the morning. Should be an easy set up with a couple of Hen decoys in the clover field. Me hope!

Our good friend Wooly scored yesterday with a nice bird!

I always open the curtains before the dogs go out. Just to make sure nothing is in the yard. I see in the clover field across from my house a Tom strutting and two hens. They were about 50 yards away. They actually stayed there even with the dogs outside for a few minutes.

My sister in Bedford had a pond in her backyard. 3 River otters camped out. Cleaned out the fish. They are protected so be careful. They will ruin your fish population.

You ever see those birds at Calverton Cemetery? They are huge! Nice bird!

I need to say insurance insurance insurance. I have State Farm and so far been great. I put in the claim Friday night they got back to me Saturday afternoon. Then I got the on call guy that told me to take a hotel room and eat out as long as it takes. He was from Indiana got to love hime. Bottom line State Farm is doing good by me and sending a check right now. I'm happy with it that is what matters. In good hands!

Adjuster comes today at 9. Told him he has me for 15 min then I have to work. He said he may be here for hours? Do they actually go through all the charred rubble? 1 could be dangerous and 2 he going to get filthy.

Agree Doc. Fire Marshal told me two things, 1-call us first then try to fight it but don't get hurt. I lost 10 minutes not calling them right away. 2-He said my house was minutes away from totally going up in flames. Board and Batten siding was a blessing. He said vinyl siding would of lit up like fireworks. That shed was too close to my house, another thing to think about when building. It's hitting me today but I'll be ok and move on. Thank you all.

Had a small burn tonight in the fire pit. Wind was perfect to take an ember over to my empty log storage next to shed. The result is losing my shed and so many things inside of it. The house caught fire as the Howard Fire Dept was pulling up. They saved my house! Freemont and Avoca was there also. Thank you all for the commitment put into keeping us safe!

I'm quoting myself. Just an update the job at Lowes lasted about 2 months. Managers and coworkers were fantastic. Schedule was not! Part time can be between 18-39 hrs a week. Schedule changes week to week. You might out in 8 hrs starting at 5 am or go in at 2pm and work until 11. The lumber department was also too physical for me at my age. They offered to move me to another department but I declined. Talk about AI, a computer makes the schedule thats why it changes all the time. Not a great thing in my mind. I took a job at the Bath Central school district. I'll work at the elementary school cafeteria maintaining the dinning room. 3 3/4 hrs a day 9:45-1:30. Still get in afternoon hunts!!!!

Is an auction the best way or can you just buy from an breeder egg company?

Ok so I'm full of questions! Are any of the birds for meat? I raised ducks and loved the eggs but never butchered them. Is butchering in the plans or just eggs?
