  1. OMG I have to do this. I did have ducks and chickens as a kid on Long Island. My Mom grew up on a farm in Connecticut so it was in her blood!
  2. I'm actually doing a 50 mile Ruck the month of May for SSS. Stop Soldier Suicide. I asked my young cadet how to Ruck and she told me the following. Minimal poundage in backpack is 24lbs. This does not include rifle and water. Her and roommate did 39. March real hard on the inclines and jog down the hills. Take any advantage to jog to increase better time. Plenty of power bars and water. She just eats up this stuff. I love to jog and exercise. I got her into it at a real young age and she embraced it. The coaches at her high school called her old school Teddi because after practice she would do more laps or other training when teammates went home. Best thing it grew on the younger kids, they looked up to her and started doing the same, a few but it was nice.
  3. Pretty cool. I used my older dog once to track a deer. He was very methodical and I was impressed. Very enjoyable experience.
  4. Best way to make them? Are they that fat cause of egg sacks?
  5. I love it just what they deserve!
  6. Cool story, some tough running there. They took one look at you and said no way! lol
  7. Love Striper fishing! Nice catch.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1729447350837965 Norwegian Foot March Last night, cadets tested their endurance marching and running 18.6 grueling miles while carrying (AT LEAST) a 25-pound rucksack. In order to complete the march successfully, the course must be completed in under 4.5 hours. This allows U.S. soldiers an opportunity to earn a foreign armed forces badge. Teddi and her roommate did it in 3 hrs 52 mins. 39 lbs ruck sack also!
  9. Never even thought about it, Thanks
  10. Definitely want to try this. Can I do it later in the summer or is it just a spring hatching season? If I'll shoot for next year.
  11. Enjoy the day Folks. I'm headed to West point for dinner with family. Hudson House in Cold Spring.
  12. Been finishing the upstairs last couple of months. Here are some recent picts.
  13. So I too her to the Vet yesterday. Slight infection in urine but vet was more concerned with the amount of blood. Did an xray of bladder looking for stones it was negative. She was put on a pain kjiler and anti anti-inflammatory med. Bring back urine in two weeks.
  14. Good morning. As of last night when I started to collect her urine the blood has stoped. I'll take that as a good thing. She did have an accident in the house last night (no blood). We go at 2:00 to have her checked out. Other than the frequent urinating and when the blood was in urine she is fine. I'll report back this afternoon. Going to look at the links you guys posted. Thank you!
  15. she was spayed as a pup so I have to rule that out. I should of said that in the post.
  16. So I have Bailey she is about a year and a few months old. Last summer she had blood in her urine and brought her to Dansville animal hospital. They did the basic tests and turned out to be an infection. I'm going through it again right now. Dog is eating and drinking fine but at times in the house urinates. When she urinates the last bit is all blood. She goes back tomorrow to the Vet. Anyone else deal with this with a female Pup?
  17. I agree on the small game hunting. We all have relatives that have a license to hunt but don't. Those are the beaters that add up. But we use the tags. Look last year we had 7 doe tags and only 4 were used. We killed a few bucks but the neighbors cleaned up. Hunting will always be here but the DEC needs to address future issues. I for one believe out of state hunters should be in the draw for doe tags. If you think about growing bigger bucks start there. These guys shoot any legal buck to bring home. Thats ok with me cause they spent more money to hunt. Let them take some doe maybe the little bucks live?
  18. Isn't there better things to vote upon. Seems silly, I spy through my little eye! lol
  19. My condolences to Dan and the family. Very sad.
  20. I subscribed to Outdoor life for years as a kid. Got a lot of cool stuff including these B&W prints that featured a dog, bear, trout and buck. They hang in the cabin. I have three magazines from the 60's still in good shape. Being I was in the Magazine Publishing business for 20plus years I actually got to Meet Todd Smith Outdoor Lifes Managing Editor a few times. Real nice guy!
