Deer Hunting sure has changed for me.

I think that story can be told by many members out there. I see that in my neighbors camp. Only 5 this year, 10 years ago it was 15 buzzing with energy. I have to say that tradition of camp must go on. My neighbor makes it a priority that the kids get out there and work the property so they can use it to hunt. I told my daughter this year while in stand that one day this camp will be you and your sisters. There are your cousins that come up here to help out and hunt. They and their children get priority to the property. Keep camp alive it's a family tradition! -
Checked in with the Neighbor behind we. They didn't see Much over the weekend but are still getting real nice bucks on cell cam and a bear.

Do they go deeper now, when pressured?
First-light replied to Northcountryman's topic in Deer Hunting
I'm back on the Island now but head back home tomorrow. It will be real interesting to see how many deer, bucks that cross my path. This my first year full time I'll see what happens. Pressure is off on both sides of my property. My neighbor 90% of the time shoots a nice buck at end of season. -
Years back I had a hunter shoot one just like this. He wasn't sure to use the DMP or buck tag. We took it back to camp and as we were coming in on the Quad the local DEC was coming up my driveway. We were pulling a trailer that had 4 deer in it. All tagged except for the small spike. He checked out the deer and asked about the none tagged spike. I explained to him it was my call to come back and measure. Mistake #1 and it almost cost me $350. He said to have something with you in the woods to measure. Could be the shell you are using or something else. We tagged it as a Doe and he wished us well. I was lucky that day.

So I'm back down on the Island with family for thanksgiving. The one thing I hated in the fall was leaf blowers and how loud they are. I would sit outside and that would be the natural noise from early summer right through December. I'm walking around the house today Thanksgiving and there are two neighbors blowing the leaves. The noise is horrible, Excluding not seeing my children I love my new home upstate!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends! Enjoy food, family, friends and a little drink!

No not at all. Pre Nov 1st

You do not want to put out scent too early. Think about it if I'm not ready to breed leave me alone so when they smell it they Are out!

Saw two Doe and fawns tonight. Thought it would come together for me when I heard grunting. It was a small spike. I'm taking a break and will pick up Teddi at WP then head to her Mom's house for Thanksgiving. Be back at it Sunday!

These guys are the real deal. No shit they have hunters from 14 to 90 at camp. Been around a long time. Family is from Maryland. Has property here in NY then they go to PA opener at another property and finish it off back home in Maryland. I'm blessed to have them as neighbors. They are a second family to me. You should see the racks from the 90's in this camp.

And it happens again! Good buddy right across from my property shot this 12 pt this morning! Spectacular deer. I can see him in his stand from my house. One year I drove golf balls at him! lol So happy for him. BTW I never saw this buck during bow season.

My brother shot a doe with the crossbow last night. The doe is huge going to weigh it in a bit. Maybe every bit or 150 lbs or so.
