Hey Gang, Just got a letter from Teddi she is doing great! She is so thankful for all the cards it meant the world to her!!!!! This is what she wrote, "I've gotten so many letters from your hunting buddies online. They are extremely thoughtful and kind. It's really rewarding to receive praise from a stranger. Please thank them all on my behalf." She really loved shooting the M240 Bravo, M249 Saw and M320 grenade launcher! She says there are going to be a lot of deer to eat this season! lol August 13th is Acceptance day when she finally becomes a Plebe! Thank you all again for all the letters and cards. It means so much. FL

Glad you are ok. I'm 59 and only use ladder stands. I have probably 4-5 in the shed I don't use. I would give them away but no liability on my end..

We got a surprise phone call tonight. She said they were going out "Rucking" it for the next week and would not be able to communicate. She is in great spirits and only talked about her Company ,grenade launcher and other guns they shot. Repelled and rock climbed also. Said they were growing into a family fast. I asked about the cards you guys sent. She was overwhelmed and said Dad the next letter you get from me copy what I said and put it on the Hunting website. I could not be happier right now!

I can't thank you guys enough. We heard we might get another call later this week. I wrote telling her to be on the lookout for extra mail coming her way. I did receive a letter from her saying she was sorry she got so emotional on the call but felt it was therapeutic and needed to get it out! We have an official Alpha Company West Point page that a lot of photos get posted to. Each company has a photographer. Here is a few of her with huge smiles on her face! Maybe she got a few letters from you guys! Seems she is doing much better!!!

8P Just got 1 high the rest none. My neighbor is from Maryland originally. At least 6 hunters come up from there every year without a chance to get a doe permit. It doesn't stop them from coming. They put so much into the land it's a shame. I guess a reason for everything.

I shot one years ago. This deer was chasing two does. After we hung him in garage I started to look him over. Both front legs were screwed up. At the knee joint on left it was the size of a baseball. The right leg more towards the shoulder had a bump on it. I cut it open and the wadding from a slug was under the skin. Cardboard back in those day! Tough SOB's

I used to get itchy around the beginning of August when I was younger. It kind of fades as you get older but that first cool Fall day BOOM I'm itchy all over!!! lol Enjoy it, a good feeling!

Good luck Eddie! My Dad had it done in his early 70's. PT started right away and was Key in getting him to walk. They were amazed at how quickly he returned to walking.

As you know Teddi has been at it for 3 weeks now at West Point. 3 more to go for beast 2. It was a hard phone call yesterday and we just have to stay positive. Would anyone of you be willing to send her a letter or post card. of encouragement. She knows about the website and my long time here. It would truly lift up her spirits! Yesterday marked the halfway point of Beast. My daughter and three other girls went to a graduates house for lunch and some down time. They were given back their phones so we had over an hour with her. She passed the physical part of training. They just don't get much sleep. 4-5 hrs a night I could see she was exhausted. Mentally it weighs on her especially the part of being home sick. She said I will never take another person for granted in my life. She has three weeks to go. Some kids dropped out just too demanding. It was a rough day for this old guy my heart broke for her. These next few weeks are a lot of field training so it might be more exciting and the time will go faster. Thanks for listening! FL
