  1. All these years of hunting I've only had Venison, grouse and Pheasant. Loved all of it.
  2. Looks like 5.5 sq miles. That is my property in the white outline
  3. Beautiful afternoon so quiet but crunchy in the woods. Didn't see a thing until about 4:45. Two yearling eating grass under the power lines on my leased property. Stalked up to about 50 yards and bid them a good winter. lol
  4. Happy New Year to all my friends. Celebrate what you accomplished in 23 and make 24 even better!
  5. Didn't get out. Maybe one last sit tonight by the corn. Been a long season for sure!
  6. Went out with my neighbor. We both shot at the same doe and missed. Did some pushes but nothing. Sat in the lease field stand tonight it was beautiful but no deer. Need a food plot up there. While doing my pushes I found two dead heads. Also a view from the stand.
  7. Best thing I ever did was to keep a field of goldenrod mowed. It's in the middle of the woods and the deer, bear and Turkey just love it.
  8. Saw nothing until my walk out. Big Doe stared me down at 30 yards gun was on my shoulder in the sling. Guess who won. Always tomorrow but tomorrows are running out! lol
  9. Hunted until 11 saw nothing. Again saw some new rubs and opened scrapes. Tonight I'll sit in my favorite stand until dark.
  10. Headed out in an hour. Fresh coat of snow show make it interesting. Not sure how it will be in the woods with it hanging on the branches.
  11. See this is why I love where I hunt. My neighbor just called and said let's hunt together on my property tomorrow. He has about 250 acres not heavy hunted. Just the two of us walking around stirring things up. The guys behind me who own 400 acres are done. They told me have at it if you want. Good people who know how to treat each other. As you know we shoot quality deer from my place but its nice to know you have options!
  12. Went out for my usual walk. Wind was perfect and had a Doe across a field I was able to sneak up on. Turned out to be a button so I didn't shoot. Sat at the corn for an hour saw nothing. Tomorrow morning I'll go to one of my favorite stands. Hope it produces but who the heck knows what they are doing this late in season. Oh I did find more rubs and scrapes. Crazy!
  13. This is just "hear say" but I was told there was a gun store right across the border into PA. Before the law went into place he sold millions of dollars of ammo to NYS residents. He actually had to stop because the locals were getting pissed all the ammo was going out of state.
  14. 1st time I bought after the new rule I had to wait a day. It was approved in 3 hrs but was't driving back the same day. I was told like 7/10 ammo buys have to wait. I was also told you have to fill out that form for every purchase for ammo.
  15. I keep up on NYS gun laws just not here. It gets way out of control the stuff people say, Dems and Republicans. I turned off the thread years ago and I'm very happy!
  16. Nice deer. It's funny but I own my original piece of property that is about 60 acres. An elderyly couple had a 11 acre parcel next to me. I helped them out here and there and became friends. When the husband died she asked if I would buy the place which I did. We have killed more big bucks on that 11 acres than the 60 I own. Two of my best stands are on that property!
  17. Oh so that's why I'm not seeing more wildlife on my property. It all makes sense now....lol
  18. Thought you could ship them from being bought online?
  19. I think my neighbors and I killed 16 buck and 20 Doe. I'm going to map out the area hunted so I can come up with square miles. I'll get back to you guys, we are all interested to see how much land we all hunt.
  20. The new season provides an additional seven days of late season hunting with bows and muzzleloaders. Hunters must purchase a bowhunting or muzzleloading privilege to participate in the late bow or muzzleloader seasons and may use all deer carcass tags valid during those seasons. From DEC website.
