So those of you guys who hunt the EHD areas how was the hunting last year? Same thing happened. Did it really have an impact on deer sightings and game harvest? Where the areas closed? I have no idea.

Had a great time with my brother and dog. So much bait fish in water Dolphins were chasing. I caught a Sting Ray but lost him in the suds. Had a huge fish on that almost spooled the reel. Fought it for 20 minutes then hook popped. Saw a couple of sharks caught that was about it.

Does anyone let snowmobilers cross their property?
First-light replied to left field's topic in General Chit Chat
My neighbor lets the snowmobile club trail access. They are great at grooming trails and keeping the trails clean. I did have metal posted signs and a ladder tree stand stolen in the dead of winter. I called the club president who listened to my concerns and said he would spread the word. So far so good. There are always some bad apples in the bunch. I do have to say they stay to the trails. I have power lines going through my property and I have never seen tracks on those lines. -
I'll ask him again. I should of never started this thread. Changes his mind all the time.

My Mom helped me a few times to butcher the deer. She was great. Hand grinder and all. We did a good job!

Happy Birthday!

Huge amount of hunters come from the city. I'm talking Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and such.

Yeah I have to get new Epi pens soon. I have a camo bag with them in it. I take it with me all the time. They need to be close. Awesome buck!!!
-
You keep your Epi pen with you correct?

I don't mind the Saturday opener but you are right. It was great having the weekend to do all those things. I also miss the old timers that hunted with us. Nothing like having one of these guys in camp. The only one I have left is my neighbors dad. 85 years old stays in stand all day long. I make sure I go down to his trailer the night before opening day to have a chat and a shot of whiskey. They come from Maryland. Camp is about 200 acres but he always spends his last hunt on my property in the honey hole. He does well there, I get such a kick out of it. A wealth of knowledge.

Storm is further east than expected. Still getting rain next two day with gusts to 50 mph mid day today. I think we got lucky.
-
Real nice.

I'm buttoned up here in Northport. Expecting 70-80 mph winds with a lot of rain. This storm is going to bring some big rain upstate. Be safe all flooding is going to be a big problem. We are looking at a 5 foot storm surge. Not good. Be safe all.

I remember it too. Keep your neighbors close and work with them. Times change and we are the ones to keep it going. Being self centered doesn't work. Enjoy your property and at times share it with new hunters. It will pay back in droves. Sorry you just can't bring a hunting knife to school these days, I wouldn't want it. But back in the day cool. Very different world of when Doc was a kid. Keep on mentoring and sharing what you can. Hunting will live on for further generations.

I hope the big guy is checking in and seeing what is happening. You can just ignore certain sections in your settings and they never show up. I did that with the political section and have really enjoyed the site much more. As for not having any moderators, it's not a good sign. Hope it changes, this site goes along with my morning coffee, I would miss it along with you guys!

Funny couple of years ago after coming off of the Verrazano Bridge I saw a dead buck with one of those tags. I thought it was a taxidermy tag and the buck fell off his truck! lol

remember 30 years ago an inspector doing a dye test on my septic. I said what will this show, he said just a pipe buried in the ground. That's all I know.
