    scent free laundry detergent, deordorant,  body soap, spray all my clothing layers and boots, and lastly breath spray.. and if i remember ill spray my doe urine or buck bomb around my general area to help with any spots i missed lol... i think that is more than enough but I like it

    wow look what this  turned into ... and to think I was only being scarcastic about the cruelty part. I realize that WAY MORE than HALF of the inmates in prison deserve to be there. I do feel for the small percentage that are wrongly accused and convicted. As far as tents... I don't care about that. at one point in time not very long ago we had chain gangs performing services to the public. in some areas that do still provide those such service like by me in Orange County for example. More than once I have seen the sheriff office out in one of the local parks with about a dozen inmates all in blaze orange picking up trash. Usually the day after the 4th of July fireworks show. They do this super early in the AM when the majority of the public is at home still. only difference is there are no ball and chain on their legs. I think they should do more community services often than not.

    out of all my deer not much but around 8 Two were taken in the afternoon. I was lucky to get them because they spotted me before I even heard them. I was able to spot and shoot them just before they ran off.. the rest of the deer have been in the AM hours and they usually walk right by me. I hunt from the ground  Just my personal experience Im sure its not the same for others

    I agree witht the above I don't think it is stealing from you. Since it is not your property (you didnt own it) then The farmer has that right to lease it out to someone else if he desired. for $3,500 ... I would regardless of whether or not you would be pissed. being its not your land why would you think it would be ok if you had the decision making powers over the property owner as to who can or cant use the land? it sounds like You have permission to have trespassers arrested,but not give out permission to use it to whom you choose. maybe you do tho I don't know, that's not how your thread read..  BUT, that being said the farmer sounds like a stand up guy and since you have a preexisting relationship with him  then you are a lucky guy.   Great bucks!! Id wanna get in there also!! P.S. Not trying to start an agreement but I thought I would just point out a few things from another perspective

    What do you do before the sun rises? Do you not get to your stand before daybreak? Thermals drag down until the sun crests the horizon. Food for thought.

    I understand what you are saying .. I get in m,y spot 1 1/2 to 2 hours before the sun rises. Where I hunt the deer are no where around that areas. they are out in the fields and come back my way on their way to the bedding areas. Yes my thermals are not rising before sun up but once the sun does some up thermals do go up. Personally Id rather spent 2 hours max with the thermals falling in the Am and 4 hours with thermals rising rather then 5 hours in the afternoon with all thermals falling.....

    Or heres an option for you. Buy a scope mount that makes the scope sit higher up say 1 1/2" high, mount the scope and put your iron sights on as well. If you decide to take a shot with iron sights then look under the scope. if distance is your objective at the moment then look thru the scope.

    Im with Elmo on this one. I just got a CVA Wolf and originally said I would keep it with the open sights..... but that didn't last long because I like getting nice groups at what ever range I decide. I would be openin to trying it out one day. but.... the scope is dialed in sooooId have to resight it in again after I put the scope back on.. I like upclose and distance shots. You can do both with a scope....

    There has been a lot if stolen stands lately around me also 5 within this past month that I have heard. I think people are doing this to get other hunters out of the spot they want. I had a nice ground blind taken from me recently in my private property upstate in Sullivan county as well as a ladder stand and a old trail cam

    G man is right asking for others opinions is fine. I would shoot the buck that I posted in my thread in late muzzleloader season if something bigger did not come during regular season. setting goals for yourself is not a bad thing. if you're into that if not then just get your meat andFill the freezer I like to do both I am the only one in my family that eats the meat so I'm able to set higher goals or standards while still trying to fill my freezer. I like to try and set my own personal AR's I usually base it in the amount of points but that also depends on the age and size of the deer's body (for the meat) my main goal was to learn more of what the other more experienced hunters think and then compare what they say to what I think. I don't consider myself a newbie but I am certainly not a veteran hunter. Out of the 8 years I've been hunting I have shot 2 bucks ( a spike and an 8) and 4 doe I had 2 years without any harvest at all. Due to myself implementing my own AR so I can get myself a wall mount which a met that goal with last years 8pt. I am a gun hunter and enjoy that the most. It is way more easier than bow but that's my preference. Knowledge is all I'm after!

    Field Archer , have you ever thought of taking all your videos and for one season and making a DVD? Use you opening music and disclaimer and then put all if your 2012 hunts in ine DVD then all you 2013's in one etc. etc. etc I'm sure you could probably sell them for a few bucks each. Just a thought

    so now we are labeling people as trigger sluts because they may have a big buck as an avatar.... I cant just really like the picture?? at the bottom on the picture on my avatar there is a quote from the good book.   Ephesians 6:10-11 pictures of big buck as avatars doesn't necessarily mean that person has the most experience or the most trophies. As a matter of fact. I have only one trophy mounted. and he was my 2nd buck . If I were to shoot this 6 point this season he would be my 3rd. My first was a spike during my first bow season.
