  1. My wife is pretty much an anti hunter, wouldn't be in my best interest

Im with you on that one my friend. Im very lucky to be able to have my miount on the living room wall. She says as long as she doesn't have to hear about it or see It, Dead that is, then fine.....

  2. Has anyone every used the Fusion  sabots for the muzzleloaders? .50 cal? or know anyone who has used them before? I went to the local shop andchose the fusions over anything else based on price.... I know that the bullets fusion makes for rifles are decent so figured id give these a try. they were 9.99$ for 12 compared to 25.99 for 15. they are .45 bullets but with the sleeve makes it a .50. hopefully they are worth the try. I am gonna use them with CCI 209 shotshell primers and T7 50/50 pellets

  3. so on with my story... I have a bunch of doe and this little spike with one spike on one side. and I had to add a photo of this wierd mountain man yours truely.... also the set my my tree stand shown above and I took a few pictures of the shooting lane I have. ther is a tree on the right side (or look at the photo that is zoomed ) this tree is the one I have my cam one off the trail.. from treestand to tril cam i is about an 80 yard shot. rough estimate. Was so excited about the trail cam actually working since it was $50 new and that I hung the stand nice and secure I forgot to range the distance...,. I now there is a big buck in that area somewhere. I seen a few huge rubs last year on the opposite side of the land. I just couldnt get it that area.

I checked it this am to make sure there were activity in that area. in that time frame I got 195 pictures. most were sunsets and plants moving but everyday I have pictures of deer . here are a few. post-1590-0-25320700-1379007671_thumb.jppost-1590-0-51588400-1379007718_thumb.jppost-1590-0-37528600-1379007758_thumb.jppost-1590-0-04589100-1379007774_thumb.jppost-1590-0-17353200-1379007788_thumb.jppost-1590-0-23029700-1379007806_thumb.jp

  5. 3 feet my first bow season. I hunted from the ground and shot at a doe and the arrow it a small branch that I didn't see and flew off. the doe ran but I got up to see if there were any blood on the ground. while I was looking (about 10 yards from the spot I was sitting) a small 4 was walking with his nose to the ground and walked about 3 feet from me. I didn't know what to do so I stood still and looked mback to where I was sitting and noticed I left my bow there.... for a split second I th9ought ablout jumping on its back.

  6. I'm hopeful that I have good luck with my new Covert. I have not had the best of luck with any of my cameras and currently have a Moultrie, Primos and one of my Bushnells totally or partially screwed up within their third year. I also have a $50 Tasco that takes real crappy pictures, but is still cranking after two years. The best camera that I ever had in terms of quality pictures is the White-flash Cuddeback that got stolen. That one was into its 2nd year, but I will never know how long it might have lasted. I am on the verge of discontinuing my trail cam activities because of the poor quality of camera designs.

I just got a tasco a few weeks ago. and I put it in the back yard for a few days this way I cam make sure I set it up right and the pictures are being taken . I have alot of deer and small animal acivity as well as the landscapers. alyways I had it there and checked back 2 days later and there were NO pictures at all.... mind you the lacdscapers came and mowed the day before I checked it. I reread the instructions and an confident on the operation but... not sure if the camera is defective or not.. I put it out in one of my new locations right off a main trail and its been there for over a week now. I plan on checking it within the next day or 2. whenever the heat goes away. Have you ever had any issues with your tasco??

  7. Which is why I said you have to separate the two in your mind. Playing with the mouse on the glue trap is entirely different than just killing the mouse for eradication purposes. You are describing something sadistic.

The OP was just about whether its sporting or not to shoot pigs from a helo. Im saying that theres no sport involved, and it isnt sport hunting, so theres no reason to even debate whether its sporting or not. Its not, and it doesnt need to be. lol

I agree with you 100%  it is not sport nor should it be. however, the way they aired the show I can see how it would come across cool and fun for others. It was more of a game for the people participating. Did they go back with a vehicle and pick up the hogs and put the meat to use???? I would like to think they did but more than likely the hogs were just piled up in the brush and let sit to rot. I. I don't think the show should even be a tv show.  it just gives young minds and non hunters a poor image of REAL sportsmen /women

I think we've seen this footage before.  I won't make accusations about the shot.  Did the shooter stalk the hog for some time and the hog never present a broad side shot?  Did the shooter try for a quartering away shot but accidentally hit the bung hole or did he purpose try to hit the bung hole to see if he could do it?

What I do see was no follow up shot was taken during the short length of the footage.  Dog got in the way, no attempt to call the dog back was made during the short length of the footage.  Shoot claims it was a texas heart shot.  It could be.  Slow motion shot ended at the 19 second mark but the hog was still thrashing and squealing at the 44 second mark when the footage ended (25 seconds) and the shooter thought it was funny enough to laugh through out the event.  There's a lot of things we don't know about what really happened here to question the ethics of what really happened here but I'm just curious as to what people's reactions would be if that was a trophy deer instead of a hog?

Poor shot poor sportsmenship and lack of respect for the animal.

  9. with that price range you have TONS of options  hoyt Mathews bowtech are major manufacturers and there are more. just a matter of what you are confortable spending and confortable shooting. Never buy with out trying it out first. try a few and you will see what you like better. My first bow I had a Bowtech Tomkat. great little thing pretty fast and quite. easy to use and adjust. that's the only bow that I have had experience with
