this is why Suffolk has a so called deer problem because they make you jump thru hoops in order to hunt

yes this one is for Suffolk county parks, you send in a form that allows you to hunt either Montauk point state park or Hubbard county park (near flanders bay), you enter 3 date requests (one for each of the three weeks) if you are drawn it's $17 for resident green key holders and $35 for non suffolk residents you can bring 2 other hunters with you for a total of 3 hunters on the day of the hunt

So i drew Jan. 10th for Hubbard county park on the Suffolk county shotgun lottery, has anyone ever deer hunted there? any suggestions?

Long island has a great buck to doe ratio, matter of fact when i see a deer on long island I would say there is a 40% chance its a buck

Well looks like rifle is done for me work constraint I'm not able to head up this weekend, I can't complain I put a 150# doe in the freezer, will hunt out the rest of the season on long island, btw I know a 182" 9pt was taken the other day. Talk about a slammer...

did you apply for a doe tag when you purchased your license? if so you can get another doe tag at any time, if not you are out of luck unless you have a friend sign over a tag, many long island hunters have extras -
a tip for those that may keep meat at the second house (upstate) place a plastic cup with ice cubes in your freezer, if you eve return to your house and they are no longer in the form of cubes, you lost power at some point otherwise you could lose power have your food defrost and re freeze without ever knowing it all venison i wrap in saran wrap, then freezer paper keeps good for well over a year

shoot turkey, run over to turkey, flip turkey onto it's back, step on the underside of the turkeys wings (where they meet body) grab legs and yank hard... you will skin that bird in 4 seconds

I was up there with a 35rem and felt underpowered you have easy 350-400 yrd shots from that, the view is incredible he has is set up real nice, overlooks 1 acre of clover

yeah you would never guess he is 71, i have even gotten a bit shaky climbing that.
