  1. It is out of the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club in Dresden, NY I have not done much with them, to be honest I do not really fit in there as I do not have a lot of money but I still want to help the kids and Vets and other "disabled" people. I went to a event maybe 25 years ago and it was a fund raiser and I could tell all these people have money and I just don't. I guess I am just a little self conscious. Here is a link to the chapter. http://www.nynwtf.org/seneca-lake

  3. Camelbak Mil Spec Antidote Accessory Long Reservoir, 100 oz/3.0L & OneTigris Tactical Military Hydration Tube Clips Water Tube Clip Pack of 4 I picked up the Camelbak Mil Spec Antidote Accessory Long Reservoir which holds 3 liters of liquid. First thing I did was to clean the bladder and the water tube with hot soapy water, that took care of the nasty taste that some bladders seem to have had to me in the past even after washing. I ran it in my backpack during turkey season and liked it very much. I never felt that the water in the bladder was unbalanced or shifting in the backpack even after the water got very low. IMG_1182 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr The bladder is easy to fill via the large round opening that was easy to open and close (Unlike another 3 liter water bladder I have by Camelbak) which was a nice surprise. I liked the fact that there was not just a bite valve but a well made on/off switch as well to help prevent leaks. I never heard any sloshing as I was walking with this bladder, whether full, half full or near empty. I also liked how long the tube was, more than I really needed at it turns out. Also the tube is insulated. Next picture shows the tube mostly out of the bag, I just did that to demonstrate it's length, it went to the bottom of the bag where the tube plugged in with plenty of tube to spare. IMG_1164 (2) by Sir-diealot, on Flickr The following picture is just to show the differences between the two bladders, note the blue one does not have the insulation around the tube as the green/brown ones does, and the bite tube does not have the cover. I think the insulation will not only help to get a cooler drink but will help to protect the tube from abrasions and cuts causing leaks. Also the Mil-Spec version has a longer tube. IMG_1181 (2) by Sir-diealot, on Flickr As far as the long tube goes I was lucky in the fact that the same time I purchased the bladder I also purchased the OneTigris Tactical Military Hydration Tube Clips that came in a pack of 4 These clips will attach to the straps of your backpack or turkey vest multiple ways to hold the tube of your hydration bladder keeping it from swinging or getting in the way as you hunt. Please note there were four in the bag but picture only shows 3 as the other was connected to my backpack still. IMG_1169 (2) by Sir-diealot, on Flickr IMG_1155 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr IMG_1152 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr Here are the details on the clips for the Amazon website. "Great fit for universal hydration tube/ insulated hose (with 1" or 1.5" straps" "The narrow side of the clip can be fastened to 20mm webbing strap while the broad side can be fastened to 25mm" One of the best features of the clips is that they will rotate in a full circle (Adjusts to 8 different fixed Positions and rotates 360*) so that you can attach the clip to your pack/vest strap and rotate it to the best position that works for you, so weather you are right or left handed you can use the clips to attach the tube to the side you prefer. Specs are all follows: Specifications Material: Plastic steel Dimension: 1.55* 1.27"/ 3.9* 3.2cm I found them very easy to install and that they held the tube without releasing it. One thing I did not like though is that I had to take the tube out of the clip to get a heavier stream of water, I guess that is to be expected, though I did not have that problem with my other Camelbak Crux bladder that comes with magnetic clips. Now I knew some people would ask how would they work in a vest so I took out my RNG-300 that I am still a bit to fat to fit in and attached it to that just so that question would be answered. Here you see the bladder in the very farthest back pocket in the RNG-300 I had to lift the flap up to get it to lay flat but it really was not a problem at all. IMG_1172 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr IMG_1171 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr IMG_1173 (2) by Sir-diealot, on Flickr I did notice there is a small clip in the back of that pocket and it is possible somebody with better hands than I could clip the top of the bladder to that clip or tie a string to the top of the bladder hook so that it will stay straight and I would think lead to better water flow but that is just conjecture. Here is a clip holding the tube and attached to the RNG-300 IMG_1177 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr I really did enjoy this setup, look forward to actually using it in the field on the vest next season. I hope everyone enjoyed the review. Oh as you can see I also got the cleaning kit, I did not take that all out because the parts are so small they would be a nightmare to get back in there. One tip I can offer that my uncle Jon passed on to me, (Navy man, does all those I think they call them Sparta marathons, they are Military only and is into all kinds of biking and stuff and also lives in TX so he uses these hydration bottles quite often) don't bother buying the Camelbak cleaning tablets, just use some of those denture cleaning tablets that dissolve in water instead, it is much cheaper and works just as well.
  4. I was in a car accident and lost hunting for 17 years, I had tried a few times in that time and it did not work, I now take some very strong pain killers and that is what allows me to function again, I do not want to see somebody lose it just because the accommodations may not be right for them. I am going to try to find some electric fishing reels in the future for people that can't reel fish in themselves, have seen them but in the hundreds of dollars, I am on disability so that is outside my budget but I am going to keep looking.
  5. Not sure what part of NY you are in but if you have not gotten any yet I could mail you some. I think I have white, red, 11 orange and maybe a few other colors left, here are a few I did several years ago. They are just the 3M kind, they are not reflective.
  6. Thank you, I just want to know if anybody with more experience in wheelchairs sees any problems before I do it. Dog is telling me it is TV time, i will check from my Cell.
  7. I just want to be able to help some kids and Vet's get in the woods as well as others. In a way my accident was a blessing because now I have been humbled and have a heart for getting others back in the woods after losing it for 17 years myself.
  8. I am thinking of picking up this blind and donating it to my local NWTF chapter, I think it is a good design for a disabled person in a wheelchair to get into. It does not have the traditional door that most blinds would have but opens like a overhead garage door, I have spent a portion of my life in wheelchairs and feel this would be a much better method of entry for a wheelchair, what do those of you that are disabled, especially those that are in wheelchairs think of this blind entry? Here are dimensions from the site for the blind as that may help with your answer. Thank you in advance. Mesh storage pocket 75" hub-to-hub 57"l. x 57"w. footprint 65" center height 14.5 lbs.
  9. Thank you everyone, I thought it was an ash tree because I remember cutting them years ago with my father in our firewood business, but I was 16 when he died (86) so I was not sure my memory was correct on the type of tree. If the tree was correct I had figured that is what it was, though I had never had any dealings with the Emerald Ash Borer so I was not sure about that either. Thank you all very much for your help.
  10. Healthy side of tree. Edit: Thank you for the help, it is a Ash tree as I suspected and the Emerald Ash Borer got to it as I had also expected. I will let the lady that asked me for help with it know tomorrow. IMG_1583 by Sir-diealot, on Flickr
  11. So what is wrong with this tree and what kind is it? I think I know but I am going from a memory from almost 34 years ago. Edit: Thank you for the help, it is a Ash tree as I suspected and the Emerald Ash Borer got to it as I had also expected. I will let the lady that asked me for help with it know tomorrow.
  12. To me the best blind ever made was the Ameristep Roundhouse, plenty wide for 2 people, more than tall enough for shooting a bow from the seated position and the shape shed snow and rain like no tomorrow. I wish they still made them. I have the Doghouse as well, an okay blind but not the best for an archer unless maybe you have a 28" bow. Also do not care for it much with a gun, needs to be about a foot wider in all directions. I have 2 Barronett blinds, a Pentagon and the Ox 5 they are nice in terms of room but to be honest I have learned with these 2 blinds that I really do prefer a spring steel blind over a hub blind by quite a bit. Wish I knew of a spring steel blind with as much room as my Barronett blinds, Ameristep used to have the Penthouse blind, but I found the window placement I those to be poor, I could not see through the top or bottom windows without having to scrunch down in my seat with my chest almost to my knees or having to stand up to see through the upper window.
  13. Could be, I grew up in Niagara County and moved here in 91 and there seems to be much better habitat in Niagara than here in Yates from what I remember. Sent from my S30U+ using Tapatalk
  14. Never seen it and the guy I have been trapping with has been trapping for more than 40 years and he had never seen one. Other doubles with the same species yes, but never a fox and a coyote. Have shown the pic to other long time trappers and they have never seen it either.
  15. We need to teach you what critters are it seems.
  16. Have thrown kin off land before and they never returned, it was fine with everyone because they saw how it was going. The son in law is being absolutely insulting to the father-in-law and everybody else on the land, he was given a PRIVILEGE, not a right and he is abusing it in some of most insulting ways possible. If he (father-in-law) does not want to do throw him off he should tell the land owner what is going on and have him throw the kid off. Regardless the kid is disrespectful and argumentative, he needs to go.
  17. I would flat out chuck him off the property, he is one step from poaching and you don't need that kind of trash. He is going to get you all thrown off the property.
  18. I will not comment on bows as I was out of the game for a while and do not know a lot at this time but as to the harness unless she is going to be using it THIS YEAR DO NOT BUY ONE YET, wait until next year and when the season is getting closer then take her to get one. Girls are developing at an earlier and earlier age and she may have certain attributes next year that would make a harness purchased this year uncomfortable for her next year.
  19. No, it is for the Cuccidati's. You have to grind the figs, dates, candied fruit and raisins. I have been in a couple of car accidents and have problems with my hands and wrists because of the first accident I was in back in 88 I have also had 3 shoulder surgeries so working a grinder the old fashioned way is quite uncomfortable for me so I bought this to do the grinding for me.
  20. This one bud, it is like some words were left out several places and it does not make much sense to me. "I don't think we are at in NY dropping down to 1 Spring Tom. NY Fall Turkey Hunting is not making much of a dent in Turkey Populations. The bag limit is now 1 Fall Bird Statewide and less + less are going out. The only place in NY, I am perplexed about is Westchester County. Only 38 Spring Toms taken in 2020. Westchester used to be one of the top 10 County's for Spring Turkey take back in the 90s as, I have the old DEC Spring paper reports. All other Countys including Rockland County seem to now have more Turkeys."
  21. I have not seen any since the second day of the season and I am hunting 2 different private properties.
