    Bowhunting is much more challenging than gun hunting. Try it if you like it than more power to ya, if you don't at least you tried. Go to an archery range and see what they have for you to try it out.

    The DEP lands up there get some heavy action on weekends. However, you hardly see anyone on weekdays.

    Yeah, I used to fish in Caumsett as well. My wife is from Huntington we've been there hundreds of times, never saw a deer or fox either. Only saw them at night while at the center. Greybeard, do you still fish there?

    I've never seen anything other than red. I was fortunate to stay at Queens College Center at Caumsett State Park when I was studying at queens college. We slept on the first floor of the main house and at night would go outside, We saw deer and fox every time we took a walk on the grounds at night. Unfortunately Queens College no longer has the center there.

    Cabin fever stinks! I'm getting out with me wife and daughter walking DEC lands and asking permission to hunt on private property. Having my cuties along gets smiles but no hunting rights as of yet.
