I wear orange during gun season. I year I was hunting on private land in Liberty. I was under a tree, looking a two does. Did not have a doe permit (so no shot). The only other hunter supposed to be on the land was by brother in law around 4 acres down.When a shot rang out hit about a 1.5 feet above my head. Then another shot that hit the doe. I didn't move I was freakin out. A guy wearing jeans and a plaid shirt came out behind some thick brush. I got out from under my spot and confronted him. He claims that he was passing by , didn't mean no harm. Even though he did not have permission he ignored me and trailed the doe (she was gut shot). Called the owner who called the DEC and they found his car but not the guy.

You know what they say, I think its goes something like... better one bird in the mouth than two in a bush.

Fasteddie, that's good. Made my daughter and I do a double take. When I first started to hunt, we used to go upstate 2 days earlier than gun season. The owner would make us clean out all the squirrels we could find. The would make a pasta sauce with them, boy were they good.

ME too. Pretty good price. I p/u a summit goliath (or was it my Titan) for 219 from them. No complaints with service.

Headlamp with a flashlight as back up on private land. On public during gun season a Strobe light and disco ball.

I live in Hicksville Hunt- 18 years in liberty (until last year), part of last year till now Roscoe and Suffolk County.

I happen to like the Burris scopes. They make a good scope for a descent price. But, it all depend on wht floats you boat. I have a buddy who swears by Simmons (go figure). My 2 cents.

I had the 3 blade, had to buy the 2 blade. DEC officer that I met in the woods gave me a warning but let me go, with the 3 blade.

Sako Finnwolf .308. It shoots like a charm, and if i concentrate enough it is a nail tacker.
