Try Stoeger then, cheap gun but might fit your needs.
Other wise you are SOL unless you increase your price range. A good one can be found for $700-$1000
You think it would cost that much even if its not in great condition? I dont care if the outside is scratched up as long as the barrels(inside) arent too damaged.

Anyone have a used side by side theyre looking to get rid of. Ive been looking for one for a couple of years but cant find anything decent. It seems like theyve stopped producing them outside of 1 or 2 companies. cant find any winchester, browning, remington. Not looking to spend more then a few hundred. 20 gauge (3 inch) or 12 gauge.

Shoot we here in Binghamton call everything south of Albany and East of Deposit New Jersey And for the record a Conservative would have killed that Yote!!
Ive made that midnight 3 hour drive up to Deposit a thousand times. Do me a favor and push some of those binghampton deer down towards me thanks!! : )

Here is the million dollar question. Has anyone ever gotten ticketed for this. Does it really matter if you are in your stand before sunrise or after sunset as long as you are not shooting at anything. I have been hunting for 20 years and have never gone and checked sunrise and sunset times. My general rule is i will take a shot 10 mins after i can see and 10 minuets before i cant see anymore.
this is the law i follow too. Havent had an issue yet.

why the hell would you walk around the woods in the dark with a gun and keep it unloaded? My father was attacked by 2 coyotes a while back...doesnt make much sense to carry a gun and try to load it if something happens.
-
Ive seen too many coyotes and bear to unload my gun before i get out of the woods...just my opinion

As usual it turns to a bash food plots. I love the generic stuff that hunters who plant food plots trespass and all that. I have turned down 4 deer this week, because they were close to the neighbors line, and did not want to risk them crossing over. You might want to get some facts before you spew the crap. And I find in my area that if I plant food plots, I have more people trespassing on me to try to shoot a deer in one.
he said people who bait, not use food plots..

If its hard to get doe tags in 3G im sure you can find someone that would tke it off your hands

This is pretty comical if you ask me. Your basically sneaking up on a deer and killing it and theres people that think the way you hang it after its dead is disrespectful? lol thats great. We always do legs up because its easier for us to skin but Ive never gotten offended if someone did it the other way around.

My Ruger 10/22 is originally a 10 round mag but all I had to do was show them I ordered a 5 round mag online.
I bought a marlin which is loaded from the tube on top. I dont know what the actual name would be of that tube but I was told it couldnt be fixed.

I dont think they are illegal. As far as I know bows, crossbows and muzzleloaders are legal. Muzzleloaders dont even need to be registered.
-
The worst part is that you have to pay a couple of hundred every few years to renew the permit. Laws are changing too. Now you cant register any guns in NYC that hold more then 5 bullets. I bought a .22 LR and had to sell it because it holds 10 rounds. Its a clown show down here.

Take a look at the Browning x bolt. Ive been shooting the A-bolt 30-06 for years and love it. The x bolt has some nice improvements

Ive gone to butchers 2 times and stopped..Ill never go back. Both times I told them not to give me ground and to keep some meat on bone (ribs, neck) and both times I got back a S*it load of ground meat and no bone. And of course I highly doubt that I got my own deer back..Theres no way of knowing. It takes time to do it yourself but atleast you know what your getting.

tjm08803- Your scenario about the young hunter is the most realistic one I've read so far... No young hunter is passing up a shot on a big buck because its a few yards out of his/her range. Might not be the right thing to do but it is the reality of what happens.

Just make sure you dont surprise one. I saw a big one last week and it just walked by my stand, I dont think it saw me. 2 years ago I was sitting on the floor and 1 came by, as soon as it saw me it took off screaming.

Im wondering if anyone has seen any of the feral hogs in the southern tier?? I hunt 4o and havent seen any. You think they will really be a problem?
-
wmig, do you know what town and zone it was killed in?
-
If I dont see anything to shoot the whole season and on the last day see a spike, what should I do? Let it walk and go buy meat?
-
I hunt on private property in 4O. I've gone full seasons with seeing nothing more then a spike and have gone seasons with seeing nothing. So your saying it makes me less of a hunter because I shoot the only meat I see? Some of us arent fortunate enough live so close to the woods that we'd able to hunt every day in the season
side by side shotgun
