Nothing wrong with snubbies. I've had a Taurus concealed hammer mod. 85 since they first came out , and pocket carried it for years. It's been rock solid and I've put tons of rounds through it . Recently I took off the boot grips, added a larger Houge grip and gave it to our daughter . For a newer or causal shooter revolvers have a lot going for them . One has to mean to,pull the trigger for it to go off,yes she understands trigger discipline but we're both comfortable with the choice .

I try not to,let all the is happening home and abroad wear on me, yet sometimes it does. The other night 70 protesters were arrested in the heart of the area I cover , the tension in th city is palpable , one spark away from real trouble I fear. Then there's the attacks home and abroad, Dallas, Orlando, France to name a few. From terrorists to , anti cop groups that range from rock throwers to killers. We have a doughter who travels for work, let's see she was just in Dallas, is currently in Boston and tonight goes to NYC for a few days, high profile crowed target rich cites. I don't loose sleep over this life goes on, as it must, yet I wake up and check the news , where she is . All of our training lately has been, active shooter, mass causality , terrorism , civil disturbance . It's to the point when I go to events, instead of a quick look for exits and a basic who's around me,then enjoying the concert or art/ craft show whatever , I'm more alert during the whole thing . I've added trauma dressing to my cargo pockets at work , just so if I'm in a situation where I'm away from the rig and or ems bags I have something on me , in addition to my folding knife I've added a short stout fixed blade ( Strider DB a classic sharpened pry bar) to my belt , just to have some sort of strong prying/ cutting tool on me at all times . Oh we still laugh and break balls, check out the girl runners and so on, but there's a lot in the back of my mind as well lately .

That's known only to,those with an extra X chromosome ! So Mrs 302 just got a new hip, went so well I might bring her in for a full frame off restoration . Anywho one of the tasks I'm now tasked with is doing the laundry, now I've done plenty of camo and that always been a snap, but this is a whole new level. This is done cold/hot , the other is cold/cold except if you do,these with it then it's warm / warm. Then apparently there is a whole color spectrum known only to females...... There are , darks, whites and colored and they must be done seperate , but colored towels can go with whites ! Some has to be hung up, others in the drier, some of that needs to come right out,and hung up ,others doesnt matter. Pre soak, pre treat, delicate , sport , wash and wear , the combinations of colors ,heats,and steps is a number that exceeds the odds of winning mega ball. Right now I gotta go help her "shower." I got the garden hose and Irish Spring all set !

My pet peeve is people with pet peeves ! Ok I hold the door for everyone,i do it to be nice but it bugs me when they don't even acknowledge it . I also let most cars "in" or across the stopped traffic , a simple wave or nod would be nice though . The other day a bad accident shut down 490, the alternate routes were backed up , the guy behind me tailgates me and does not let anyone merge . At the next merge point I stopped dead, leaned across the passenger seat and wave several cars ahead of me as there lane was ending. The guy behind lost his mind, waves his arms going nuts, so that made me feel good wether or not they waved.

Young couple across the street had a party tonight . I had pasta salads, baked ziti,sausage peppers and onions , Genny lights, shots of fireball, and a Cohiba . Cops only came twice so far ..... I wanted to say. " but officer you said you didn't want to come back here tonight ."

The homeless around me where I work take giant trash bags full of bottles and cans 2 or 3 at a time all day long to the East Ave Wegmans . Many of the college kids leave there cans a bottles out for them. The down side is they use the money for Natty Daddy's or the rebranded 4 locos , then we get called when they're passed out along he roads ..... The last guy we went for had consumed 4 Natty Daddy's (24 oz each) and I forget how many Labbats Ice, but I recall I figured it came to over 20 beers. It was around 11:00 AM.

Ha ha Eddie I get it . My wife worked at a safe company, they had $800 gun safes marked down to $100 , employees only could buy them. I bought 12 of them for friends , they paid me ,my wife had to write the check . About a year later we found an envelope with $1,200 in our hutch .......

Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most !

On Irondequoit Bay ? There's some big ones in there. My hunting partner used to trap the Bay , while reaching into runways he's pulled out ones who's bodies were almost the size of garbage can lids. Their dormant in the cold weather , fortunately for his hand .

Don't give up . One friend out in Washington state just got a Sheep tag, after 26 years of putting in . They give out 4 or was it 6 tags a year. He'll start off with his Glen Charles made stick bow, as he's a really hard core trad guy. But the rifle will come out later if need be.

I don't scout. I've hunted the same little 90 acre piece of a 3,000 acre farm for 30 years , patterns pretty much the same . Many of my stands have been in the same general area after a few years of seeing patterns during the season and there are often old rotted wood ones from guys before me in the same spots. In my first year of bow though 1,988 I hung my one stand where I thought it looked good . Killed a BB after a few sits. Turns out that is a great spot and one could kill a deer most days there. My scouting is solely what I see during the season , and adjusting to that, which pretty much stayed the same after 30 years . I've got a few cams , none are up,yet. Haven't thought about shooting my bow perhaps the end of August. I've got too many other interests, to do the deer thing year round , heck of the 3 others I mostly hunt with 2 only enter the woods during the season .

I hate working nights on the Forth ,because of all the drunks setting off fireworks in the city, then all the calls to check out people's roofs and such. Most of the calls are fakes they really want the cops to make the neighbors stop, but that's a very low priority call for them and the wait can be quite long, so,they call us . As for Chinesee Lanturns those floating bags with the sterno can blazing away, yes the can and do cause grass and once I responded for a tree fire. One of my guys had one land on his car hood in his driveway and left a nice burnt ring on his hood. Never underestimate the stupidity of people , a month or so,back we had a house fire caused by a flare gun ..... Sons friend left it behind, Dad found it , what's this ? I think I'll pull the trigger inside my living room ...... Anyways I called in tonight, the Mrs got a new hip Friday morning and I'm here taking care of/ helping her .
