  1. Two impinged shoulders , bone spurs in one, beginning of frozen shoulder. Pinched nerve in neck that makes arms " fall asleep". Through months of PT I shoot my bow fine as well as let down. It may take months of PT and doing excersizes 5 times a day to get back to normal or maybe just R.I.C.E. Not sure what warming up on stand will do , warm up then sit for hours? I think conditioning is a year round effort , including PT type movements. Good Luck, hope it's nothing major .
  2. Well between Oct. 19th and Dec. 3 I'll be at work 6 days. One reason I went back to bed today I can be choosy in when I go. I got a year and a half till retirement , then I can really get out there !
  3. Same here up at 5AM it was 61 degrees and windy, back to bed ,light rain now.
  4. At my friends land I'm Macedon, he took a buck out of this stand a few days ago. I hope to as well . Warm a little breezy .
  5. Ya sorry about that fellas. I post pics on many forums but for some reason here they post sideways . My its a start comment was meant to mean a start of deer showing up.
  6. Wow bit of a let down, perfect conditions and all I saw was that one young buck ! Leaving in a bit, go home and winterize the boat.
  7. 30 and clear almost no wind, in one of my top stands. Nothing yet, weird.
  8. So you remember last year ?
  9. John Knoppe. Hardly a tree left on his land now all cleared.
  10. One thing about an afternoon hunt that I like, it's the warmest part of the day and generally only sit an hour and a half. Other than that it's all been covered above .
  11. What about toilet seats and doorknobs ?
  12. Larry , thanks for stopping before the white line ! Everyday we can't make the turn with the fire truck because cars are past the line ......
  13. 9 days off starting Monday, which looks stellar for a morning hunt.
  14. FYI Cooley road is in the town of Canandaigua. We own land on that road , the wife's family has since the 1,800s . Not to many dressed 180 pound 2 1/2s .Btw what farm did you hunt ? There are only a few , I know most of them .
  15. In my opinion the best practice is from a stand and dressed like you hunt. A stand in a tree with your harness and hunting clothes, only in a stand are your feet forced to be close and contend with the cables, you may learn that your arm hits the tree at full draw, that the harness gets in the way. Every time I hunt i shoot an arrow sometimes two before I get down, yesterday I had a doe broadside at 30 yards, she was a bit on edge and frankly I wanted to get down and paint my hut before the rain so I passed. But before I got down I shot at a spot on the ground where she stood. My advise is hop in a stand and fling a bunch of arrows, hang one in your yard or one in the woods is even better. Good luck.
  16. The last two guys to call me and ask to put a stand on our land were given the ok. Guy at work wanted a place closer to turkey hunt with his young son, he got the green light too. Couple years ago a young guy on here from Syracuse was going to go to school in Buffalo or something he was looking for a spot near there. While not close I'm about an hour away I told him worst case he could hunt a couple week ends with me if he wanted .
  17. I can relate , today doe walked in front Of and stood 15 feet in front of my camera, yet she is not on the card ?
  18. Windy and sky is clearing. Two doe 20 minutes ago. No shot I wanted to take . Around 9 I'll hope down pull a card and paint the hut.
  19. To many variables to say one time. Weather , wind, time of season , what I plan on doing the rest of the day , what I've already killed , what's on camera at that stand and what time, and on and on. Basically on morning hunts a couple hours then go home and to the gym and work around the house , keep in mind I can hunt over 3/4 of any given days of the season . If I was a week end warrior I might sit longer .
  20. It's really blowing here as well, I'll be out in the AM, mostly to pull a card that's had a long soak, and paint my hut . Might as well sit a couple hours I guess.
  21. Oh and one tip when sharpening. If you take a sharpie and blacken the edge bevel , this will show you what part of the bevel is hitting the stone for proper alinement .
