  1. We’ve come far from when we put bread wrappers over our socks In our uninsulated green rubber boots ! ’70s high tech
  2. Well some like to get in early for the morning hunt .
  3. So my left knee swells up, hard to walk, my hamstring tendons are sore as well as the hamstring . I Google it, hamstring tendinitis, one of the things that helps is to AVIOD SITTING FOR LONG PERIODS lol . And don’t tell me to stand ,on stand . Good luck to those out .
  4. Good luck all , Zero interest , perhaps in a few days .
  5. I just got a pair a couple weeks back,so far so,good. My one issue is my left foot gets damp. I’ve put them on my boot drier then submerged them in my slop sink and they don’t seem to,leak . If it’s from sweat it seems odd it’s just the left foot . I worn Muck boots for many years , last ones delaminated so I’m trying these
  6. On stand at Joe’s land , no size requirements here , plus they actually see bucks most sits .
  7. It just keeps getting better ! Looks like the They’re setting up to inject manure into the fields . They run about a mile of hose from the manure lagoon along with relay pumps to a machine that drives around and injects it into the ground . I might as well just quit hunting for the year .

    Your thoughts

I have acres of good heavy cover on my ground 35 or so . Here’s the thing I have all kinds of pics through summer tons of deer, and yes some bucks will disperse every year ,but for some reason the last two years most deer have . There’s probably no other bow Hunter with in a half mile in all directions , there’s no nuisance permits as I have hundreds of acres of the farm I hunt around me and 400 or so on the farm that boarders me to the south that doesn’t have any permits . Half the bucks I have on camera in the summer I’ll have back next summer . Theres not been any major changes to the farms or land around me . It’s just odd .

    Your thoughts

nope , most of it is the same farm ( it’s 3000 acres , patchwork over several miles ) , we each have our own section to hunt , and it’s like one guy per piece . The large farm that is South of my spot is largely open crop fields with very little hunting on it . To the north it’s about half a mile of crop fields , then one Hunter on his piece ,where he lives . If anything there’s less cover now on neighboring land . Over the years I’ve seen tons of hunters, driving etc, to no hunters , standing corn all season , no corn, dry ground , flooded ground , some years few crops, and every year no matter what I had deer to some degree .
  10. So I’ve hunted the same piece since ‘88 , shot my first bow deer the first year I bow hunted there in also in ‘88 , and every year since it was relatively easy to take deer in bow and gun . I’d average 3-6 deer per sit , if I went two sits without any deer I started to wonder what was going on . And so it went for 31 years , till the last two, when most sits I don’t see one deer, and rubs and scrapes are few . What’s puzzling is my summer pictures are better then ever 12-14 deer at a time in the fields including several good bucks , season starts , zippo .I’ve seen 3 doe so far, a couple of shooters at distance and a couple of young bucks , that used to be a morning sit . I don’t bump any as I walk in or out , there’s seldom any in the fields either , when before I’d have to glass as I came and went so as not to bump them . I have it to myself btw , it’s hardwoods and a thicket with crops all around it nothings changed land wise . Heres a couple average summer pics
  11. I find that inspirational , as about now I question a lot especially since it’s looking like a replete of last year .
  12. I’ve been awake on and off since 1am… long walk over plowed up field today , Hoping that I perhaps just see a deer this morning. It’ll be a very difficult drag , I hope Ron is home and checks his phone, he can buzz over on an ATV . Hunting with the compound , Xbow maybe tomorrow.
  13. Must vary by location. I see tons of them every deer hunt , and I’m loaded with coyotes as well .
  14. You have far more confidence then I .Although if I could pick myself , it would be this week .
  15. Finger ? That’s checking prostrate , which is way worse then colonoscopies. Colonoscopy is a six foot hose thing , the blood work version doesn’t get everything , my Dr.s wife died in her 40s from one of the things it doesn’t pick up . Age, family history, previous polyps all come into play . It’s the most nothing procedure there is lay down, go to sleep, wake up go home .
  16. Well I was going to hunt with my compound through bow as the shoulder has been ok and I prefer the compound to the Xbow , but now fir some reason I feel the need use it . Report from group 1 , 9 1/2 hours on stand today, one small buck at a distance , it totally sucks .
  17. Be sure to ask the dr to keep an eye out for your wife’s wedding ring ! I ask every time
  18. Back on stand on the little bean field , yesterday morning I made it here and up with a single large deer 200 yards out in the field . This afternoon I watched a young buck scream across it as I just got the field in view ,not sure if he heard me or what .
  19. I’ve heard it said that if you put a group of monkeys on an island with some typewriters, given enough time , they’d eventually reproduce all of Shakespeare’s works . that’s my deer hunting plan , if I sit here long enough …..
