  1. I'm going call my friend up later today and ask him to check with some of his other neighbors down there if they have any info about this bear if has been sighted much in that area.
  2. Here are pics of bear my friend sent me, the bear was eating from birdfeeder in the neighbors yard this past week when they snapped these pics. The bear appears to be missing its front paw. This is in Machias, New York in Cattaraugus County on Tug Hill Rd area.
  3. I luv the skunk essence idea....the wind is out of the west often around here...it will head right for them
  4. Your sure right about that Doc. that's why I head out to my sisters in countryside, or my friend in Catt County
  5. Yea I need a nice tall fence...that would give me privacy. I feel like I have to tip-toe in early morning when I go out to water my tomatoes so I don't wake them lol...I think he did hop the fence.
  6. I bought a new Primos trail cam, but haven't been out to my sisters property yet to try it out. So I did the next best thing and put cam up on old vent pipe outside my bedroom. Something has been killing rabbits and leaving them in yard, and I suspect the neighbors cat is doing it. So I put old live catch Havahart trap out (it doesn't work, but neighbors don't know that) on the ground near the camera so they could see it, but make them nervous about their cat getting caught. I get a kick out of the pics, these people literally are outside 24/7, both eating and sleeping. I know the cam works good, it took over 1700 pics of them living outside just last weekend alone. I get no privacy when I go in my yard!! The pics show them making up the bed for sleepout,, and pic of him in my yard getting his cat!!
  7. I have 2001 Chev S-10 with 118,000. I enjoy it , just enough extra space but not real big either. And not to bad on gas.
  8. I agree 100%....I couldn't bowhunt last year due to my disabling side affects of cancer, and won't be able to this year cause the only way I can bowhunt is with a crossbow. Like I said in earlier post, there is a group of archery hunters that are happy as hell that fellow hunters who are disabled and can only use crossbows to archery hunt, won't be able to cause the politicians in Albany refuse to pass crossbow bill. Yes, those hunters are happy as hell that the disabled won't be able to hunt during the archery season.
  9. The minority trumps the majority again. Politics as usual again in this state. What a freakin joke. They don't hear the majority, they don't hear the facts and that's just the way it is. A lot of disabled people won't be able to go out for early archery again. I bet that will make certain number of minority hunters very happy and satisfied. Don't you just love this state and the people who run it? What a joke it is.
  10. Drink a lot of water when you take the pain meds, some of those can really "BIND" you up.....that makes the pain even worse when you try to "GO"...hope you feel better quick.
  11. Has anybody heard anything? Any action taken?
  12. Good luck and have speedy recovery.
  13. I officially retired from my job last Friday, on the advice of my doctor cause of the cancer, surgery and everything that's happened the last 11 months. So this year I'm going to take advantage of the time (couldn't hunt last season) and enjoy as much time as I can in the woods this year. Can;t wait!!
  14. He never has but now is his chance...like i said....do the right thing albany and get this bill passed
  15. We need this passed....do the right thing Albany
  16. Pretty soon the kids will be getting suspended from school if a school official sees them playing in their own yards with water gun toys, maybe just trying to cool off from the summer heat. Big Brother is watching......
  17. When I had my upper left lung lobe removed this past January, my private insurance covered the surgery and 9 days at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. My deductible was $500.00 and the insurance paid 98,873.00. The public bares the cost from taxes that are paid and used to fund medicare and Medicaid. Your private insurance should cover you if you got sick. I'm sure glad mine did.
  18. What an awesome catch...beautiful fish!!
  19. Large percent of people that live in Western New York go and buy (or have someone buy for them) their cigarettes at the smoke shops on the Indian reservations. Are they still tax free?
  20. I do see your point Doc, maybe they should put them out there at later time or something. I really just believe every bit helps, and they did help me and I'm just glad I'm still here and can get out hunting this fall.I really missed it last year cause of the diagnosis but thats over and I'll just move on with things. Peace.
  21. Whatever. I have the name of a very good cardio-thoracic surgeon if you need one.
