  1. Good luck ,hoping you catch them
  2. The problem will be the state land with trails and a good portion of the trail system is on private property which trails opening will be dictated by the land owner.
  3. Hunters stay at camp and cook . I've been involved with snowmobilers for a number of years ,they are far more organized then the hunters and way more active in politics as a whole then the hunters
  4. I have one sitting in my garage that I haven't ridden in 5 years ,the season certainly isnt as good as they used to be.
  5. Those numbers dont really show a good representation of the issue in NYS though. The snowmobilers have much better representation due to the vast majority of people who ride belonging to a club . Give a bar/restaurant the choice between business from people hunting or people who snowmobile and it's easy to say who they would choose ,bars are loaded with sled traffic as long as the trails are open ,bars might see a couple old farts drinking draft beer to 9 before they go home and get a good night sleep.
  6. Snowmobilers spend a ton of money at gas stations and and bars and restaurants, the same can not be said for hunters ,money talks.
  7. Not gonna pass bill ,after the snowmobilers have their say . Then add the small business owners who will gladly take the side of the snowmobilers who benefit from the trails being open.
  8. Wait til the snowmobile crowd has a say ,this will be dead in the water . They have way more representation and money then the hunting community does .
  9. I recommended cutting a lane into the food plot for the stand but i was overruled.
  10. Have you ever been in the woods during the late seasons? You almost never see deer.
  11. It's called a walkers game ear . I've never used one for hunting but I've read the downfall to using them is not being able to pin point the direction the sound came from.
  12. If someone shoots better with something then I'm all for it .
  13. Some people shoot doe ,you are already putting yourself at a handicap
  14. OMG ,is that seriously what they charge for those ? What's the difference between the button and just touching the string to your nose?
  15. The places I plan to look for bucks this year wont have any sightings or very few if any. Does that spot you are targeting right now run between 2 different bedding areas by any chance?
  16. Another vote for a rock climbing harness. I like to put a lifeline on any set I leave out and I have a strap I use if I ever use my climber.
  17. Theres a creek nearby but save your breath ,we've been trying to talk him in to scouting that area for awhile now.
  18. Surely they must have had at least trigger locks installed ? Kept in a safe ? Any kind of anti-theft precautions?
  19. I love that feeling in my shoulder after a day of a stock beating the snot out of it ,let's you know you're still alive !
  20. I tend to believe this as well . Let me pick your brain a little, my spot in cuba sees regular traffic from my buddy and his dog doing firewood, probably 4 times a week. He says he sees deer all the time while cutting firewood ,when I'm walking up the hill the deer are gone as soon as they you . It seems odd that the saw running being the only difference is the deal breaker but it seems that way.
  21. Just get a range finder that compensates the angle for you ,aim where you want the arrow to go in.
  22. Of course , we get black bears at 40+ yards even up close it's impossible to see rings ,the binocs are for hopefully seeing the rings and then looking at the muscle lines to figure out where to aim.
  23. So it can just move up and down ?
  24. Theres different ways to tie them in.
