Technically speaking ,if you are in the woods with a gun or bow with the intentions of harvesting an animal then you are a hunter . Some are really good at it and some are not

I know the elements break down ropes or straps overtime but there is no way a couple months will make them unsafe.

I dont have a ton of experience with sticks but just lifting them up slightly would take tension of the rope , provided you are going with the Muddy style and not a ratchet strap .

Wouldn't your friend be positive if that was the deer hes been watching ? There is a whole lot of unique features going on that should tell him or not.

Can you get permission to hunt that field?

2 to 3 inches is way too much room for error for me to feel safe taking a shot ,add nerves and adrenaline and the deer jumping is just a recipe for a wounded deer.

Same one we just talked about ? All those deer come out of that thick stuff into the field across the street. I've seen some really nice bucks getting ready to cross there on my way home from shooting. That field would be perfect for one of those round bail blinds .

That doesnt sound like a great idea , the peep is supposed to align with the site housing to make sure you are consistant every shot . It should be part of the check list before releasing the arrow.

Did you try and see if you can spin your D loop on the string so it pulls the string back and aligns the peep properly?
