Pretty bleak assessment there..........does the sun ever shine in your world?

When I hunted elk in 2004 I was at a svelte 220lbs.........since then I've been close, but not THERE. I was 43 then............. GO GET 'EM "B"...................

I have a couple of these slings but mine aren't like the one pictured. Mine are probably 20 years old......... I didn't like the width (2.5") at the top of the nylon swivels. I modified one (Henry Ford Black) of them by putting some Paul Jaeger swivels on it and then narrowing it down with a razor knife to about 1.25" all the way. I like to take my slings off when hunting both deer and turkey often times. The Quake swivels aren't/weren't designed for speed. The other sling (OD green) I also swapped out the swivels but left it full width. Hence, it doesn't get much use.

Go south.........these guys here will give you good intel. I have a small (really small) spot I hunt in East Aurora and have had some good hunts. Maybe you can get some permission locally, if so, JUMP on it.

Simple pleasures in life - free dirt!
Lawdwaz replied to Steuben Jerry's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Funny, I get excited on garbage day. Nothing like getting rid of all the trash and recyclable stuff. -
Don't tell me Pygmy started a Mepps vs CP Swing thread? THAT'D be a battle!

Yes we do have a NYS Building Inspector here. He does mostly commercial buildings but certainly will know the residential code on this. Heck, IIRC he's used my winch and scale a few times in his own garage.

I've only been on a few "guided hunts" and two of them turned into guided "camping trips". Life goes on and I'm richer for the experience............

257 Weatherby 'oughta do the trick! Aaaaaaa what's up, Doc???

As a young boy the CP Swing was one of my most productive lures. This past April had some work to do at my FIL's house in Florida and among all the stuff I was rooting through I found a bent, beat up and tarnished CP Swing. Tonight I pulled it out and tried to straighten the main shaft and got it pretty good. I jumped in the truck and heade up to the canal to see if it swam straight and the blade spun like it should. It did! No fish were harmed in this excercise.

Ever try dove hunting? Not much exercise but tons of fun and great table fare at a wonderful time of the year.....

I Got Bit...ignorant dog owners are out there
Lawdwaz replied to greg54's topic in General Chit Chat
Glad you're OK Greg...............As you know, the owner is really to blame on this but the dog will surely pay the price. I'd sue the bastards, that'll teach them. -
I figured you'd sniff this post out PDQ.

It seems to me I've never seen so many rabbits, they are everywhere! I have a couple running around my yard daily, there's three or four at work each day and countless and I mean countless others I see every place I drive. Up in Waterport (Orleans County) there has always been lots of them in the summer but even this year there appears to be a bumper crop. My wife and I were driving someplace around home a couple weeks ago and saw better than a dozen in just a mile or so of side streets. Anybody else notice this?

Hear about his cookie caper?? I think he'll get sprung......

"Summit" and "Viper" are same/same. Im going to guess that hanz is either posting from Ma's basement or just a good old spammer. Hopefully im proven wrong. Wake me up if he comes back.......

I had a couple.........one wasn't directed at me but I was with the guy getting a face full from a neighbor who was actually totally wrong about his accusation. The second time I was alone, snoozing in the back of my 1983 Ford Ranger. I had the tail gate down and rear glass of topper open. There is a dead end road and I was at the end, not bothering a damn thing. The neighbor came up to my truck and hollered. I quickly sat up and was startled to see a Browning A5 slung, hanging upside down on the guys shoulder but pointing right at me. Right next to me I had my S&W Model 37 and my hand slowly went to it. I demanded that he point the gun away from me as he continued to give me grief. Grief about what you say? Well he didn't like the fact that I was "blocking" his foot travels up a trail that wasn't even on his land! The stand off lasted maybe 3-4 minutes but it seemed much longer. He left me alone and I left shortly afterwards as I was a bit nervous about him coming back. I didn't call the police as I'm sure it would have been tough to prove and he was a neighbor to my friend (who still owns that 150 acre chunk today) and I didn't want things to go further. A fellow member here now owns the land that the douche bag owned so it's funny how things go in life! (oh yea, the DB is dead of old age)

When we were kids, we fished Springwater Creek. Fish that size went into the front pocket of our Levis.
