Oh I never over do it anymore. I'd like to but it ain't happening. I went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 3:00 although the alarm was set for 4:30. Laid there for 45 minutes and said the heck with it..............took a shower, brushed the pearly whites, made a cup of coffee and hit the road. I got to my spot around 6:30, took my time changing into hunting clothes/harness etc then made the long 250 yard hike in. A doe and fawn came by around 7:30 or so and although I had a real nice opening at 16 yards I thought they would swing around a blow down and head to the apple tree. No dice.............they did the old backyard football slant pattern and kept going. All & all in was a very pleasant sit. I PLANNED on hunting the afternoon also but I have to confess; I made a decision that shows maturity. My wife and I have plans for tomorrow and I'm tired so I came home. I didn't want to be tracking (maybe??) a wounded deer late, then gutting it and driving home. Then tomorrow I'd be obligated to butchering.......................... I did spend some time checking out a couple new places, moved a camera, shot two rifles and ate at Subway. Home by 3:30 and I'm basically on Queer Street now.......................

No......I'm not sure what the steel is, I got it second hand off the 'net. I I'm in a quandary, I intended to use it and now I don't think I will. The condition is 110%.........AND Geno hasn't made knives in a number of years so the value is going up. Well, maybe I'll use it.

The bottle on the right, Antica Formula. Try it, you will not believe how good it is.

Snow sure is great to see for bow season but the first real snowfall of the season usually shuts the deer down for a few days in my experience.

WOOT! I finally had the perfect opportunity to mention to my boss that since we were starting to slow down a bit that "hunting season" was coming at a good time!! I was going to need some time off coming towards the end of October, November and early December. We've been been friends for 40 years and he has always know I've hunted a lot, NOW he will know how much that really is!! He said "no sweat"............... Tomorrow I'm planning to bow hunt for the morning & evening and shoot the rifle during mid day. Rough day............... Soooo, to celebrate the 2015 Hunting Season (I know many of you SOB's have a jump on me) I'm going to offer a toast. Bourbon Manhattan and a new to me Geno Denning knife!! Bottoms UP and cheers....................................................

Oh yea, from 10/15 until the end of gun season I probably "go" in the woods more than I do in the house.

What a crappy thread. I have Tim Horton's Camo Brown napkins in EVERY pocket I can find of my pants, coat and shirt. Baby wipes might be good in warm weather but I bet they'd be a bit nippy in the cold?? Do they burn well?? Are the bio degradable like napkins?? To the fellow that CAN'T crap in the woods, I don't believe that is possible for any hunter that spends all day in the woods. Do you hunt for an hour at a crack or what? (pun there)

This year should see the following, in order: 260 Rem, 7mm-08 and 243. I think. 2 and 3 could get swapped around. Decisions decisions. 270gr bullets? Holy kielbasa....................................................

Bump.............I'm out of Barnes 120gr TTSX bullets but found another 100 of the Nosler 120gr BT's. I think I'll give them some love this year. Any new members here have a pet 7mm-08 they'd like to showcase? Tell a story and hang a pic, please!

You sound like a young guy.....hopefully I don't have to tell you that your apperiance, attitude, vehicle etc can go a long way towards securing permission. If you do get a positive response be gracious. Offering to help with any chores be a feather in your cap too. Where you gut a critter is important too. Lots of ways to loose permission!! Good luck.

Says the guy with the handle "Jerkman".................. All is good in my world!

OK, now my reply to all you smart azz posters..........GFY. Vaseline is your friend, among with other similar but more specific products.........trust me.

Before I come up with a wise remark I'll say (and when I replied earlier today I was in bed with horrid stomach pain and couldn't sleep) that I think you are WAY over thinking this if you think you're going to damage any parts of your arrow quiver rubber with a TOUCH of Vaseline.

Wow! Congrats to you and Mr. B...............36 years is a heck of an accomplishment. You must have been, what, 15 years old when you got married? I've been doing the math all afternoon and can't figure it out................ Please let us know tomorrow where you went for dinner. I'm always looking for a new place in your neck of the woods. The Italian joint in Mt. Morris is highly recommended!!.
