The ADHD thing is said lovingly!
-
Well done! Hard earned buck for sure........

When he finally catches that darned gray squirrel he's been chasing all fall? I get such a kick out of those two always flying here and there, it seems as thought the gray squirrel is just toying with that pesky little red. Another thing; those red's seem to be the poster child for ADHD in the animal world. They are wired............... Love those little buggers!!!

Seriously? How'd it get by me.......darn the luck. Happy Birthday Bill!!

I'm thinking the loose arrows rattling around in the quiver could possibly HELP make my arrow go in the right spot? :)
-
I'd say 3.5 also as he ain't 2.5 and for your location (WNY) that can sure happen! What a stud, he has to be one of the nicest this year on the site. Ohhhhh my. Unkillable in my book..............rarely does a beast like that get killed and I think there most die of natural causes than from a hunters hand.

I wrestle with this every few years. When I'm in the tree I have the bow quiver hanging off my right side on a hook screwed into the tree or off a stub branch. I seem to shoot better with the quiver off and I like the fact that the bow is a little lighter for those times I get busted and have to hang onto the it because a deer spotted me before the draw or I changed my mind etc. Last night in the tree I was thinking that ahh heck maybe I should leave it on, it might make the bow more stable and simplify things. I've only been doing this for close to 40 years you'd think I would have it figured out by now......... What do you folks do and what are your thoughts???

The dead buck above was 2.5 years?

The last picture in post 17 shows him well. He is a beauty!

You want some hog meat too?
-
What a nice gesture...........
-
I have a pile of pork from the hog I shot March of last year. My wife didn't like it so we didn't use it that much of it, your neighbor would be more than welcome to it. It is vacuumed sealed...................... I'm heading east tomorrow to Canadice and meet you or him somewhere along the way. I take Rt 20 to Avon then go south. I could continue to Lima, then go south or take 63 from 20 to20A then 15A if any of that alphbet soup works. PM me if you'd like. Edit to add......I think there is a bunch of ground and bulk sausage.

Still working on it??????????????????????????????

OP.......Get any REAL numbers yet?

My 8x32 are 20oz. How far from the road are you? Many of the deer hunters in this neck of the woods are hunting from a tree for a few hours at a crack, 1/4 mile maybe from the truck. Survival gear isn't necessary and a bottle of water isn't really needed. YMMV
-
First think......WTH did you buy 10x50's for? That's your first mistake. 42mm objective isn't needed either. Go 30 or 32mm next time, NO SMALLER. You must have amazing vision if you can discern whether a deer has horns or not at 75 yards in the pines, low light or a foggy morning. I don't know where you are hunting but I've never carried a water bottle on a morning or evening hunt in my life in NYS or PA. What are you expecting? So many people these days can't leave their house without a bottle of water, how'd we survive without bottled water until it became so cool 15-18 years ago? And you'd rather carry an EXTRA bottle of water than optics? You're kidding right?????
-
Great idea.......CCHC. I'd even take it one step further and have a few hinges welded on and a piece of light weight steel covering three steps attached. Lock that baby up and you'll be in good shape.
-
Oh yea......a climber bottom is NOT supposed to be used like a hang on. It could be very dangerous getting on and off as you are always supposed to have weight on the base for security. The base doesn't have provisions for sitting either and that could get dangerous also. Go buy an inexpensive hang on and then use the ladder. SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY Check Craigslist out for a second hand hang on.

LEAVE THE LADDER. Don't sweat it, it won't bother the deer a bit.

A herd of boy scout looking to make kindling?
