  1. Well belpist turns out the guy is from South Dakota and didn’t see the attack soooooo Hey what other animals live in South Dakots that might have attacked?
  2. Belo dropping a papist like post, lol Everything on Facebook and the internet is always true.
  3. Better call the news, and the national guard! This is the beginning of the end they will rise against us!
  4. Jameson Black Barrel is always first choice, my wife got me a bottle for our anniversary recently because it’s $50+ and I wouldn’t open my wallet . Lol Other than that rum and coke, gin, martinis, and manhattans. I very rarely drink beer and don’t drink much anyway.
  5. I do towards me so he has to come between me and the deek, if facing away sometimes they will stop and strut waiting for the hen to come over. I often do off to the side but it depends on the set.
  6. Best advice I can give is to scout, learn where they roost, where the fly down, where they go after fly down, where they go after 830. There are no one size fits all approaches because every bird is different and even then they change by day sometimes. Also do not over call and just let them come to you.
  7. Still pattern yes but most likely the pattern would hit where you aim. It straightens the line of sight to the front bead. I use a screw on system to make sure things are centered on a coupe of guns. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Dead-Ringer-Beard-Buster-Sight/1575691.uts?productVariantId=3440252&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03636515&rid=20&ds_rl=1252079&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjY2AibDp2gIVRAeGCh3JkQxQEAQYASABEgLRx_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  8. I failed to find one to roost one so I held off on the one spot and scouted from a far instead this morning. Located the birds and have a plan in place for Saturday with my son. I’m saving the bird for him. Slim Pickens this year and I hope for a better nesting season.
  9. Separate topic but check out shimming a shot gun stock. It helps center everything up so you don’t have to hold the bead high or low etc.
  10. I have no idea how to answer this because no one uses tin cans as a measurement for pattering a gun. I don’t intend that to be taken as mean, I just have no way of comparing it. I have seen and had loads that leave holes in the pattern and be uneven. Didnt you say you shoot 3.5’s because they don’t make 4’s? Why do that if it’s not needed either?
  11. The more I thought about this the harder it was to answer, reason being I have had some super easy Turkey hunts. Then I thought of all of the ones that I didn’t get and how a bird can be unpredictable for the strangest reasons and decided on turkey being tougher. Deer are much more predictable to both pattern and read how they will react. Yesterday I called a bird from very far away that crossed a road and a stream to get to me and then he hung up at a drainage ditch/hedge row. Why? Because he is a stupid bird.
  12. Don’t worry, I gave the hero shots to my future sponser.” Charmin Dependable, durable TP for the expert outdoors men”
  13. Read the whole series, he called them in but the hens were in the way of the Tom.
  14. I would like to apologize to the fella who owns the ladder stand that I left a scent pile next too. By the time I realized how close it was it was too late. Fingers crossed the scent will be gone by 10/1. I found me some wild leeks, grabbed a few and will have to come back and get more.
  15. Whew warmed up quick. I’m out. Going to stay around home tomorrow, hopefully I can roost one tonight.
  16. Well the hens took the one group up and over the field. Then I spotted turkeys back where my blind was yesterday and this morning. So now I’m back there till I quit.
  17. Relocated and spotted a flock way out in the middle of a big field. Got set up and heard a gobble next to me. I’m going to wait a while and see what happens. Looks like a few toms and a pile of hens.
  18. Let’s see who wins in a battle of back yard beasts. I’m taking the turtle. I took my time before going out to take pics cause you know..turtles are slow.
  19. That’s a wrap for today, moved the blind to closer to the travel route
  20. Well I’m going to ease my way back and move the blind. I think I saw and heard my buddy go by and toot the horn to the land owner. I can’t escape this guy hahaha. Well that’s not true I’m way away from the road.
  21. Well I spotted the hung up bird right where I thought he was. Moments later my buddy from the morning came riding through with his loud truck and spotted him and got out. On the move now away from my buddy.
  22. And he’s hung up in a field somewhere below me.
  23. Cutting me off as he crosses and drops down the valley.
