  1. I am going despite a nasty cold, maybe I will recover a bit by the weekend. We have a new spot to try out, I can't wait!
  2. Yes we all know 327 guys from the DEC survey in the pilot area support AR's..thats old news. I know you would rather I said 77% but that ain't gonna happen, just like state wide AR's.
  3. Me too, I like it when they are close enough to get all four of my pins on them! ;D
  4. hahaha Now we know you are dillusional! "DEC supports voluntary antler restriction programs. However, DEC does not see a critical biological need or compelling management advantage to mandate such restrictions."
  5. We have been out in the NZ, haven't seen one up home yet. My wife has seen a couple of Does..including one that was a few feet away but it was dark out. My brother inlaw shot a busted up 5 last Friday with the ML, weighed 140. Other than a few other sightings its been a real slow year for us.
  6. At least they didn't refer to them as hunters, and am I the only one that had to read the lady's comments a few times to try an understand what thell she was trying to say?
  7. Sounds like you two need to tune your bows better, my bh's fly the same as my feild points.. Honestly though, your nocking points may be a little off, as small as a 1/16 of an inch will make up that difference and not alter the feild point/BH flight. I sure as hell am to cheap to chance lossing an arrow on anything but a deer. I sent one through the target and back stop at my dad's a few weeks ago and haven't stopped crying about loosing it yet. I would rather throw $10 on the ground then loose an arrow. haha
  8. Most often I hunt with my Dad, brother and wife. The group used to include uncles and cousins but the group has dwindled down.
  9. I practice out to 50 but have no need to shot over 30, every deer I have ever killed has been with in 20 I think. I like shooting long range, its a fun challenge and makes 30 and under easier. I learned alot this year moving back to 50.
  10. We used stew meat but I can see making swedish meatballs in this way too with a few minor alterations of course. Yea that soda thing was a curve ball, I'm not sure why its in there but what ever works. I could see adding in a bit of beef stock next time.
  11. We did this recepie last week...it was good, thanks again for sharing!
  12. 2000 acres is alot for one guy to cover..I will gladly hunt with you to help you get the ball rolling. Is Saturday good? haha Nice job, I love new spots!
  13. Of course I do...hence the name. haha..so far this year I am Doemisser. But we have lots of them where we are.
  14. 4 This year, used to be 5...just cause.
  15. Looks like part of the arrow proping the head up.
  16. I don't see it as a problem, I mean it is a hunting web site after all. I say go for it, but I am only one man.
  17. I agree smaller pins help, I keep looking at the sights that start with .29 and go down to .10 in size, I think I want that one for next year. I have an aweful lot of fun practicing at 50 yards and can see my self moving back to 60 just for the hell of it.
  18. Nope, no deer tracking for NAVHDA, but we do bird tracking and some dogs are trained in blood tracking. I know Im late on the reply but figured it might be good for future reference for some one.
  19. Typically high lung hits spray out onto braches and leaves higher up and may not even hit the ground due to the misty like spray that comes out. Also a high lung hit deer can and will go for a very long distance, especially bucks. You found blood early most likely due to the fact he was going slow and stopping, once his pace picked up, the spraying started. You may have only sliced a lung with one blade of your broad head with that high of a hit. By the way, where I hunt water can be found in every direction and deer pay zero attention to it. A wounded deer can and will do anything it can to escape you. Good luck.
  20. You never know, stress at time of kill is one factor but I had a simular thing last year and the deer was fine, not tough at all.
  21. I would think there is some one down there with a certified tracking dog, some of them only do blood tracking which will not help. But deer search is different from that.
  22. alright I can't take it.... I will only be grunting if I eat a lot of cheese and its hard to poo. I hope you are happy steve, its all your fault.
  23. I will refain from steve's humor... yes I will use the grunt tube but only sparingly.
