  1. looks great taco. quality stuff. seems whenever you go to a store now it's stuff that looks well and good but still made from softer woods and don't last with years of use.
  2. Last night was seafood buffet. Had 4 plates of crab legs piled high. I was a gluttenous sinner for sure. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. Made it past Germany. Stopped at amphitheater for concert for The Guess Who yo slow down. Getting lit. Had this Bavarian Pilsner last. Whatever it's called it was good. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. You can break forms of target panic. I've had it. I prefer the wrist strap for hunting as I have no fear of dropping it. For competition accuracy the hand held release helps. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  5. Family trip at Disney World. At World Showcase area. First country was Mexico so I stopped for a mango rita... 12 oz. Drink in every country we planned. Don't know if we're going to make it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  6. My arrows vary across all colors of the rainbow. So i guess I must shoot happy arrows that cover all genders but only relate to happy deer. Deer apparently know this, because they can't frolick to my freezer fast enough. Nice arrows! No leaf or forest floor duff color there.
  7. my thumb trigger releases are the Shootoff model that's very similar. both i think have silk path sears. trigger breaks like greased glass. the quick crisp break helps a lot. with many wrist strap or lower end releases the trigger sears are working for a longer period of time and you can feel it. you just have to ignore it and ride it out until the arrow is on it's way. most people don't realize it because to some extent they pluck at or punch the trigger. others try to use back tension not correctly and end up pulling too hard. causes fatigue and inconsistency. i learned that a long time ago. i prefer a bow over 32" axle to axle for hunting. More comfortable and stable anchored at full draw. I can still shoot a shortest bow well. longer bows are just easier to do so. My 3D bow is 39" and i wouldn't be reluctant to hunt with it. just the opinion of a another guy on the internet.
  8. i only know of Region 8 doing a National Hunting and Fishing Day event years ago. Being in Region 4 with DEC's main headquarters we hear of just about anything. I could be wrong, but promotion would've otherwise been minimal to non-existent. September is the perfect time too with weather and foliage changing, migatory waterfowl shipping out, and hunters just getting fired up for what awaits. I'd rather see more money and time go into actual events to get people actively engaged than the "I Hunt NY", "I FISH NY", "Governor Cuomo's (insert whatever) NY" marketing.
  9. I only use a thumb trigger Stan because of the clean breaking trigger adjustment to have just enough travel. Otherwise it's not helping any. I could never feel as consistent with a kisser. None of my bows have them. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  10. Yea I can see that with trad bows. Where my anchor changes a tad is in release. String near first joint of fingers changes angle and therefore distance slightly. Also as I expand i sometimes draw a touch more or less if my "grip" on string isn't consistent as id like. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. i was always going to get a chrono, but haven't. i figured whatever speed i got out of a tuned bow was just that. didn't feel the need to put a number to it. so i can't really justify the cost. i don't shoot FITA, ASA, or anything that restricts speed to 280 fps or whatever it is. IBO doesn't really care.
  12. jealous. when i went down there last year i didn't go out as i wasn't with any fishermen and my wife isn't that into it.
  13. What she said. Way easier t9 handle and cut to length for windows. Zip tie similar color camo burlap for Windows on top end and use small bungies on bottom to keep it closed in wind. 2x4 base with sealer so it doesn't rot with ground contact. Anchor down from inside with rebar. Weld fender washers to rebar end and then use screws through that into board base to hold in place. Before straw mats wrap wire cage in multiple layers of black painter plastic. If you drill holes in board base angled through each corner you can use rebar dual purpose as lifting handles. 14. doesn't look like it so add $200-225. nice releases are worth it though IBO. i tend to spare no expense to connect the lunatic to the string too. i've got a couple Stan releases, one being blackout version for hunting if choose.
  15. nice setup. hope it serves you well. Jim knows his stuff. taking that thing to any NEBA 3D shoots in the area? haven't attended any yet as i've been busy, but probably will at some point.
  16. the unofficial agenda vote i saw seemed to be 4 yes, 3 yes without req, and 6 absent. i don't know all the rules but apparently that's enough to hold quorum. several bills before yours that got voted on with the same bodies present. we'll see if that matches the official vote.
  17. i agree Doc. Us as hunters, fishermen, or state recreational land users are DEC's only feasible means or biggest influence to effectively manage fish and wildlife. i agree they should be blazing the trail for education not outside entities pleading for involvement. I feel that if DEC was more efficient and active in that sense, they'd spend less time fighting and managing adult hunter opinions later on that prevent them from do the tasks they should instead be doing. "NY Open to Hunting and Fishing" is a bit ridiculous with simply having opportunity that's promoted more than normal. they should be focusing more funds on planned out education and outreach like we're talking about, because in DEC's defense departments are minimally staffed to hand this stuff. youth and new hunters have a fire to participate and learn that no seasoned hunter with predetermined outlooks and mindset will ever match. i've seen it with my involvement.
  18. ...and here we're just trying to increase poachings fines with a minimum of $250. sounds like a good day. imagine being a hunter there with deer dropping in mass quantities at all hours day and night. sounds like they really hammered them with all that organization and involvement. shameless plug there's a bill out to increase poaching fines in NYS (Senate bill S387).
  19. i don't know if results are officially posted yet but the crossbow bill S1386A passed to move out of committee. still has to be read multiple times and scheduled for a floor vote though. Some other bills passed and are moving out of committee too like the poaching bill that increases poaching fines.
  20. i guess to have a 'take' one would have to get out to hunt. been busy with work and stuff going on. haven't been able to make it out yet. always a crazy time of the year for me. wished i picked up a youth hunter. i had some time then. looks like i'll swinging for the fences late in the season when the green growth is tall, birds are quiet, and thinned out already from the lead flyin'.
  21. Tonight selection. So far these aren't fancy i know but i havent had them before. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  22. Sorry to hear it. Lost mine earlier this spring. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
