  1. field and stream (DSG aka dick's last resort) had all calibers mentioned just like at other locations on monday. 30-06 went within the business day as did 308. 30-30 hung around a few days and 6.5 creedmoor a day after that. stocked deep with the 6.8 western if you want to or can even find a rifle chambered in it.
  2. i hunt on the family farm of a few hundred acres that's part of but on the edge of a qdm co-op that's thousands of acres. it depends a lot on when they cut, how often, and what they plant. if it's a combo with alfalfa then it'll have some draw. if they plant forage rye grass (not cereal/grain/cover crop rye) then you'll have absolutely zero draw. our family farm started out in all corn and all those carbs per acre pulled in a lot of deer. corn or soybeans on neighbors now draw bucks off our property during early season, prior to peak breeding. that said hay ground unless cut very early will turn your property into a doe and fawn factory. these older doe family groups outside of the rut will push bucks out. so don't expect the same summer buck bachelor groups you're used to seeing. at the same time those doe family groups establish with a smaller home range and can draw bucks in during the rut. pick a spot at the fringe of your farm easiest to access and do all antlerless harvest there early season. don't take doe otherwise, even if they're busting you. hay fields are also wide open so keep in mind they might not provide the same cover to access your stands early in the season like standing corn.
  3. in my office anyone not vaccinated still has to. don't require proof, just expect you to not be a dick and lie about it.
  4. yesterday i went to a goverment DOD/DOE facility maskless. sitting at my office desk now maskless. earlier i went to the bank though and they required one vaccination or not. yet not one employee had a mask on.
  5. that's a lot of deer to mount.
  6. Still don't have the primary setup. Sold my old primary bow to a friend for a deal. Friends don't let friends buy bows at full price. Lol Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  7. It's a blacked out stanislawski shootoff 4 finger size large. I have a duplicate that's blue black and chrome also. Blacked out version I use to hunt with. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  8. First shots from a week ago. 1st at 20 yards, 2nd at 30 yards, then 40, and finally last at 50 yards. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  9. Feel like this always comes up. Around 36% of dressed weight is what I get in well trimmed/processed meat. I've been cutting up my own since I started over 20 years ago and others' deer too. I get a few per year. Bucks 3.5+ yrs old can be a little more and little less for doe very old or very young (including button bucks). Also as said shot damage effects yield too. Might be a wash from a shop. if they rush and leave some it'll offset less trimming they do. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  10. always feels good to get a buck back and on the wall.
  11. GMX is the lead free hornady stuff. sst has a lead core.
  12. fair $ for each. i'd bite but i still have a newer not even setup yet and am trying to get rid of ones I don't really use much.
  13. sounds like the situation with all areas i know of where they want more deer taken. you can only hammer the deer so much in accessible locations before they figure out what's going on and hunker down in those unaccessable spots, at which case the hunting then sucks. i think it's a problem that could be lessened but never be fixed.
  14. yea Al beat me to it. I'm always using those to site in. it being a 760 pump you're a little out of luck bore sighting unless you have a muzzle or cartridge lazer tool. should be able to take a shot at 25 on a big target backing, dial to get close, and then shoot once again to confirm clicks were as advertised. from there using what Al posted you should be able shoot a group at 75 yards to figure out how accurate the rifle and ammo are. shoot again if you need to fine tune the point of impact. i'll never understand, especially with current ammo situation, why people take so many rounds to sight in.
  15. This week we started deducting time for shots outside center ring for body and head shots as well as if you hit the hostage silhouette. Finished 3rd out 10 but a handful of fliers cost me some time. I'd you haven't tried this type of competition I strongly encourage it if you can live with burning up the ammo. Ridiculous amounts of fun. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  16. The thermometer sitting on my desk was dead when I pulled it from the drawer. I planned on using it. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  17. With covid eased up, the grill at work is fired up again. I grilled some backstrap seasoned with @Bionic cow massage with a side of loaded baked potato salad. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  18. Don't recall spring rate on mine. It's basically a safe queen now. Been awhile since I broke it down. Just looked and midwestgunworks has that part sold out. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  19. As long as you got that forend off and cleaned everything you should be better off. Scariest part about cleaning a pre-owned hunting rifle is the stuff people tend to skip. Sometimes the gun is pristine but then you find a lot of corrosion in places like that. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  20. Let us know how you make out. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  21. Checked and it's whitetail heaven. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  22. Had some cheap stuff and now the good stuff. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  23. Most of your deer rifles out there don't have that many rounds through them. Mine from my grandfather was a jam o matic. Cleaned the gas block and put some tetra gun grease on the lugs and it worked. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  24. Take it apart and clean it including the gas block? Mine cycles 150 to 180 gr ammo just fine. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
  25. Benchmade Osborne 940 is my EDC now. I originally bought it for a good folding hunting knife. For that use it's now the backup to a Benchmade Altitude in hunter orange. Stud is missing because I've left it off for ease of stropping to keep the blade shaving sharp and sometimes hair whittling sharp... whatever is the best I can get it that day on 2 micron paste loaded leather strop.
