out by me northeast of Albany, NY. I also attend some individual NEBA shoots (group of local clubs) out this way on occasion.

not as durable to use for hunting in my opinion. besides I've found the pin portion of the bushings get a little bent still when they take a hit. nock squareness is even more important than squaring up the business end ive found. this is my primary hunting bow setup that I'm using for 3D until I get the Elite Victory in the previous post fully setup.

they're good. ends of poles and fabric will get beat up on any blind in my experience. I prefer the other ameristep blinds with the full height longer verticle windows if there's a down hill grade in front of you. their fabric I think doesn't hold up to snow load as well as say the heavy canvas double bulls. if you leave it with heavy snow coming it might stretch a bit. if it sits there a while. ameristep blinds are good though. don't use blinds much for deer as their set it up and leave it for the most part. brush in 3 sides with windows closed and leave one side open. haven't figured out if there's a difference brushing in the open side or not. if you're bowhunting it should be there a while or deer should coming in to it blind from around a corner. they seem to always figure out something's there to me.

3D league is on Tuesday evenings. Hunting setups. Yardages vary out past 50 yards at times. No range finders allowed. This was first arrow today/this evening. 30 yards I figure. This was first arrow for second group of targets up the hill. Figured the ram to be somewhere between 35 and 40 but closer to 35 (two of my pins evenly split) than 40. Making up a week so moving to a different stake at times but shooting two arrows at each target. Exactly four arrows in....

maybe not needed but deserved. don't really know you despite being in relatively same area. must be hell of a guy though with that mind set and actions to back it up.

i usually try to sit as long as i can from mid October through most of November. even if it means bringing an easy snack in with water. that said i rarely can justify sitting in one spot the whole time. deer aren't in the same spot all day, wind/thermals shift, etc. between family vacations and deer stuff outside of hunting i rarely have enough time to take days off to actually hunt. so most of the days I'm sitting somewhere though on the same property and hunting all day.

that's what I kind of thought. didn't know if you were thinking more of a breakfast route.
-
we do this too. never used egg though.

I agree. my hunting bows usually have 1/4" tied in peeps. no tubing or anything else.

When I get home lately it's usually dark or raining. Basement paper tuning shot tonight. Bare shaft to tell if I'm doing something wrong. Not the conventional picture

It's helped me is all i know. That would suck though. I try to watch out for other deer when drawing. Thats part of not getting busted. It includes other deer around you. If they blow your deer won't be hanging around long and is now going to be on edge. Some super slammers like tom miranda also practice drawing.

That's what my wife used. A spiralizer

not to detract from the thread... adjustable brightness cover on HHA's work awesome for smaller pins to make the brighteness just enough. wrapped fiber is a must. a pin light is needed too if you hunt a lot out of ground blinds mostly closed up. if you don't have the HHA setup black electrical tape partially over a visible clear housing of the wrapped fiber works good. peel it back away during last or first light. I like my small pins though.

Actually just finished up lunch. Give or id take pic. It's a casserole my wife made. Has spaghetti sauce (tomatoes), green bell peppers, sweet Carmen Italian peppers, and zucchini from the garden. Then toss in some sweet Italian venison sausage and Colby jack cheese. Going to probably try pickles this year. Need lots of recipes to cook and keep up with 16 plants! For casserole I think she used one big one we missed picking earlier in week.

all my pins on bows that are setup right now whether they're fixed or a single pin are 0.010" and when I'm about to release the pin is blurred a little and the spot on the target is in focus. by then you're just centering the floating blurred pin were you're aiming.
-
I do the same as long as I have a tag for it. I keep my finger behind the trigger though for that reason. it's only to practice when to draw without getting busted. big part of bowhunting.

Right from the horses mouth. There's a really good chance doe only goes away. Also refer to nyslowhands post. It had an effect but not enough to offset hunters dissatisfaction. earn a buck will also never happen anytime soon anywhere.DEC just couldn't beat the printing deadline. It was at the printers over a month ago. That said those reactions to this in here is a great example of why DEC should cross ther Ts and dot the I better.

the tekkans even had their picture in the regs guide as illegal. not sure now. haven't looked. the tracked blades design is illegal I think they all use that concept. for mechanical broadheads you just use what you won't lose sleep over. less the KE of your bow setup and/or lighter your arrow then go with a lesser cutting diameter. don't need anything with a massive cut. fold back deployment blade designs (NAP Shockwaves, Grim Reapers, etc) you want to be really careful hard quartering shots as you can get deflection and a different point of impact versus something like a swhacker or slip cam designed Rage heads.

no real changes but DEC has more citizen science stuff coming down the pipe to try and get a better feel for what's going on. AVID is one of them. Regs wise not much of anything. Pushing voluntary passing of yearling bucks but nothing forced. Don't know if the doe only portion of early season is dropped yet, but it's assumed it would be before the season gets here.

Bino recommendations under $1500 or so

He has the show MeatEater. Hunts about everything and cooks some of it up right there and rest at home. Not really about trophy hunting but focuses on shooting something and making it taste good. -
I've had about a dozen on that list.

now that you say that... silly me I keep forgetting to make a trip down there to collect. I could show you around sometime. I could probably fit you into a short time slot in my schedule.
-
...and possibly a new case. could be fine though. ....maybe.

looks like they're fixed in the new guide. they messed up the page number [22] on the front page that should reference pages 20-21. nice QDMA plug in a caption. hope you WNY hunters don't think those bucks are representatively too small for their ages.
