http://www.lymeactionnetwork.org/index.html I'm in no way associated with this group, if you have questions. I was at a festival up in Glens Fall and saw their tent/booth. My father in law has is bad and my family being outdoors all the time I was interested. Never heard of them before, but they had their stuff together. They had lists of knowledgeable docs, printed news letters, literature, contacts, and other resources. All the people under the tent approaching people who had any questions, basically has lyme disease and went through treatment or was still doing so. They lived or were living it. Just figured it was a good link to share. we grabbed all kinds of info off the table, but I'm sure the link can get you that and more. Anyone knows anymore good links or resources I'd say post them up. Maybe this thread will be something good enough to sticky somewhere.

we've gotten a few soaks and the garden is taking off. harvested some peppers and that's it. anyone harvesting stuff yet? I feel like it's still early unless you've got a greenhouse.

that really is too bad. good you had a great time with them. how did she not realize what you could do with them outdoors?? that's like someone else dropping off kids with someone in the city and then getting all bent they had to cross busy streets multiple times. truly is sad. -
that's interesting. I do know that there's so much competition for mfg broadheads that a company has to straighten issues out like that or the tank in a hurry. hunters expect a lot from a broadhead. i'll read some threads at AT but I've never been on there too much or setup a log in.

If they relocated manufacturing to Wisconsin versus Colorado some may not have packed up and moved. Now you've got the different people making them based on the shop drawings/plans. there might be transition pains? I'm sure it'll get better. you don't buy out both the best mechanical head and best fixed blade head mfg and then let the brands sink from QC issues. I would think anyway.... supposed in today's world I could be wrong. ...did those heads spin test true/straight?

Muzzy and Rage broadheads are probably machined in the same place now they're both owned by the same company. I think all the work is done out of Wisconsin. The real ones aren't made in China. The guy steering the ship for the parent company FeraDyne is supposedly an avid bowhunter. They're not made in China.

FeraDyne Outdoors has some job openings for manufacturing in Wisconsin. Had a CNC machine operator position and similar others that seem to be filled up. I was hoping more people would come in here to bash Rage and push for a good broadhead company like Muzzy. I need a good laugh.

bow manufacturers typically have a minimum arrow weight of 5 grains of arrow weight per pound of draw weight. shooting that though will leave you with a louder bow, more wear and tear on the bow, less penetration, etc. it's good for unmarked range target shooting but not really ideal for hunting. most all setups end up being heavier than 5 gpp. even if your arrow setup was light and flatter shooting you should still use a rangefinder or hone your range estimating skills. don't over think it.
-
I get it they're expessive. most broadheads seem to be these days. as an engineer I'd be bothered if someone copied my design and then tried to steal sales away from the company I was at or owned. the trickle effect is real. you're chipping away at other blue collar Americans' lively hood.

discuss and craft sensible laws or strengthen the ones that are there most are for. it's laws like the NYSafeAct that have some good stuff in it but are overwhelmed by a bunch of useless BS that doesn't work. your last statement is just plain one sided ignorance. discussions at the table over and over again. problem is anti-gun people or those that could care less about the continuous watering down of the 2nd amendment get more than greedy or accept it as if there's no other way but to limit or restrict gun ownership. other side is growing tired of the strain on their rights. if we passed groundbreaking laws today that got incredible results to make the majority happy, we'd still have a horrific event tomorrow and people jumping ship to shout it wasn't enough. -

nothing wrong with her not wanted to hunting. if she likes shooting i'd run with it. never know. she could be the next corey cogdell. -
i shoot 2 blade rage heads. not the xtreme just the regular ones and mostly the titaniums that they don't make anymore. similar to the SST rage heads. my arrow weight is 420 grains finished. i'm a 29" draw shooting average diameter arrows (Easton Lightspeed 3D 340). I shoot 65#. bows range from 330-345 fps IBO. everyone has been a pass through so far with those setups. quiet a few deer too ranging from mature 120ish lb doe to a couple bucks bigger and heavier than my 215 lb frame.

accessories are prevalent for the Ruger 10/22. Law referred to in the original post isn't just a law intended for NY it seems. Ruger 10/22 rifles, that by NY definition are assault rifles, are out there in the rest of the country. kids elsewhere wouldn't be allowed to use them due to a technicality. its the same gun. yea your daughter is ok but someone else's daughter is out of luck. -
this is exactly my experience.

probably not as complicated if the dog had blood all over its face and was dead laying next to goat pieces. otherwise you've got a poor worthless lawyer. point taken otherwise.

...if you told me in-person practically all the stuff you type on here I'd look at you with a blank stare too. I do think it's awesome you brought her to the range though. I hope she shot a firearm and wasn't banished to a chair to get bored and disinterested. I think adults are so out of touch with being outside that they don't properly expose their kids to the fun in the outdoors that could be had. it's as if they open the door, point outside, and say "go do something". kid doesn't have any idea what to do that quickly comes to mind so they have no interest to be outside. hell give any subtle hint of going outside and my daughter who's a toddler will run to the door and rattle off half a dozen words/reasons she wants to go out. she's 2 so if it doesn't happen a meltdown is imminent. if I didn't expose her to those reasons she wouldn't want to go outside. -

you can pass it on to immediate family only under the NYSafeAct. this is worse in that if your kids are under 16 yrs old they don't get it and it gets destroyed. AR15's being modular, adjustable, and recoiling very little are among the perfect guns to pass down to youth to get them involved in shooting sports. even under supervision a youth has little immediate use for say your belted mag deer rifle. -

many aftermarket stocks on her Ruger 10/22 would make it an assault weapon per the NYSafeAct. it's still the same gun but it wouldn't matter. see the issue? Also nationally anyone ant-guns has the intention to define assault weapons as more semi-auto firearms in general than just an AR style platform. Hindsight of the NYSafeAct and similar laws passed in other states. -
they'd still be in hiding a bit but definitely moving around following momma by now. I've seen quite a few. tons of rabbits too and haven't heard much for yotes. all that is a good sign. although I came across some bear scat. fox are always around too and they'll take fawns.

just last year I know of a kid that got one to the hand. he had it wrapped up like crazy. multiple trips to the doc and lots of time to get the splinters out. basically looked like it was shot with a shotgun. for 3D shoots this summer I've tossed a few after they got hit. after a while though carbon shafts just give. always check them before shooting not here and there. don't have to flex them much. just look and quietly listen for cracks. cracks under wraps are an evil thing that go unnoticed.

hope you get more photo ops once the clover comes back in. nice pics.
-
nice couple bucks. second one seems younger. see what you shoot and shoot only what you see. definitely seeing some respectable bucks. hope once antlers harden up one or both hang around for you.

I've got some sleeves of 100rds each and a couple bricks of plinker stuff in case any youth I know don't have them and there parent's can't find it. then I've got my stock pile of target 22LR for pistol competition. it's around. was just up in Maine at Kittery and they had a bunch, both standard and high velocity. I didn't need any and there didn't seem to be flying off the shelf while I was there looking around. 22LR is fun as heck to shoot. still not sure why I haven't bought a 22LR rifle for myself. growing up I always used my dad's and brother's. nice setup larry.

I swear some of them must have a reaction time quick enough to make any top fuel drag racer shake their head in a state of awe.
