you definitely should and when you do cage in a small spot to gage if it's being over browsed or just not doing well for whatever reason.

I camp and hike where there are predators (4 legged and sometime 2). I routinely travel from county to county with my pistols to participate in sanctioned competitions. I'm in an area that has had cases of poaching and/or trespassing done by others who are armed and at times confrontational. etc. I'm in Rensselaer county. I've got a restricted permit. eventually i'll take a class and right a letter to get it unrestricted. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that each judge can subjectively do as they please with granting pistol permits with or without restrictions. permitting and requirements should be uniform throughout the state. the Safe Act has everything to do with it now. with such loosely subjective reasoning for granting or revoking, it could be reason for worry. if you get your pistol revoked all your firearms can be taken away. you could argue that they're your spouses but I'm sure they'd take them to "hold" until you can prove so. you'll never get them back. I'm willing to do a lot and wait obviously because I have pistols. however, the whole process and system is severely damaged. I don't blame my county either. sheriffs, pistol clerk, and those involved are great to deal with. they're just working with the BS that's given them.

jacket goes around my waist or over shoulders. gloves, hat, etc. all go in pockets. I do not have things strapped or packed behind me to lose on the way in. I know I won't drop anything that way.

go to any nearest eye glasses/vision place. they'll have kits that have solution and silicone/microfiber clothes as well as pre-dampened wipes. sometimes they'll have an anti-fog stuff in with the solution. they will take care of things as good as anything. if you use some soaps or solvent it might wear away any coating on the lenses. I wear glasses. when in the field, I blow out any loose debris, breathe on it, and quickly use a wipe or microfiber cloth to clean the lens. when not in the woods and at the ready I use Butler Creek Bikini scope covers. they work really well and last a very long time. keep out dust and anything else well too.

looks like a predator like a coyote or a bear. she was and wasn't lucky to get away I guess. -
doubled up on bucks... done good this season.

you can't not breathe. just brush your teeth and don't worry about it. nothing you can do about it.

only had them as bait for other fish like stripers. they seem to like them. apparently I'm deprived. we would catch them pretty fast on herring rigs. like tree'd lines off the main line, each with a small brass hook, blue-green bead, and synthetic little dragon fly like wings. seems like once you're into them they keep biting. if you're not catching anything then move.

the next week or so will be the time to see it.

a piece of plywood and a ratchet strap work really well.

yup if it's a farm tractor.
-
if you have crops then you can argue that the deer are doing damage and you harvesting the deer are decreasing the damage or loss by the farm. doesn't matter what the tag was. nuisance or damage permits are only good for while the damage is occurring (not during hunting season).

I agree with Fourseasonwhitetails. I think it's 2.5 yrs old. it's legs still look overly long compared to at 3.5 they'll look proportionate to it's body. it's hind end still has that jacked up appearance. it's neck would be much thicker at 3.5 yrs old. it has equal mass or lack thereof from front to back. at 3.5 they really look front heavy and like a 2.5 year old in the rear. antlers can vary a lot but it's got a set that I've seen grown by 2.5 yr olds many times before. so I don't think it's 3.5 and it most definitely isn't older.

I'd get a different processor. meat doesn't look right... tasting right is subjective. also for the love of game they don't vacuum pack and label the stuff they do?? every commercial processor I know of does. I can see ground or bulk sausage being in sleeves but come on! that price isn't a deal it's just the going rate. what you'd need that I got from one of my posts in another thread.... - game gambrel hoist and place to hang - good grinder with sausage end and two size plates (forget the hole size #s) - meat pans that'll fit in a frig. - good vacuum sealer (bigger than 8" wide to do roasts) - a few cheap Dexter Russell flexible boning knives - cheap $5 fixed angle carbide/ceramic sharpener - sharpie marker - (optional) electric smoker with digital shutoff timer - (optional) nitrile gloves ...that'll get you well on your way to do just about anything with deer processing, minus consumable items. if you're more serious I'd guess you could get a meat mixer. if you're good a plastic block top butcher table and a meat hook will speed things up for deal with quarters.

if you nicked something or maybe just bacteria some how formed on the tenderloins. as for the hams did you let it hang hind end up. I do this because as it hangs and maybe ages if between freezing and just under 40 degrees it'll blood and fluids will drain. if the hind quarters are on bottom it'll build up in them. similar that could promote bacteria growth is not letting your boned out meat sit in draining blood or water from the meat itself. also if you hose it off the inner cavity and aren't processing it right away pat it dry with a clean cloth or towel. unseen injury from fighting or something else can have a level of infection throughout that you wouldn't detect in normal and especially that case lymph nodes are bad to open up or cut into. I don't leave them in aging boned out meat either. they're in fatty tissue and each quarter. ...as I cut up my 5.5 yr old doe last night I was thinking about your post.

I've gotten quite a few bucks that other trailcams setup the traditional way didn't get on the one farm. three bucks just this year where taken by three hunters and were their largest bucks to date. none of them got trail camera pictures of their deer. i did though by setting a trail camera up like this. nice day time photos. one hunter's buck is even chasing a doe with nose straight out. they're all getting a Christmas present from me this year.

you'll shoot your eye out kid! ...take pictures when you get it.

i have only (5) left.... - the chances of getting back your money in form of a Bass Pro gift card is very good. - very good chance of winning free QDMA membership. With that you'll get a magazine for a year that'll simply make you a better more successful hunter. Then any QDMA held seminars on hunting related topics you can make it to are free; making food plots thrive, how to make your property hunt better, habitat improvements, deer management, etc. - I believe there's a chance to win a gun each week throughout the year. - they make awesome stocking stuffers or Christmas gifts. it's like you getting them a scratch off lottery ticket for almost every day of the year.

for tonight it'll be less than 24 hr old tenderloin, marinated for some additional favor, from a 118 lb doe. i mean it'll be practically vegan. she's been eating soy from soybean fields and I'm washing it down with 2% milk instead of whole.

had some sheep cheese at some food expo here in our capitol. that ruined it for me. goats and sheep I've decided shouldn't have anything to do with cheese. my cheese adventures go as far as gouda.

I've tried all the different types of batteries. cost more but i have the best luck and use from Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries otherwise I'm using a rechargeable battery pack. so far the Duracell Quantum (red band) ones are doing well though. Lithium rocks the others in late season cold weather though.

sometimes you have to make noise to stop them, but they tense up and much of the time know something's up. much of the time I use a scent wick or pocket size spray bottle and at times something in the trail that's not natural like the bottle itself if it's not deep in with little human presence like larry said it's important to take that last second or portion thereof to settle into a point of aim and follow through. that's what I do.

i'll try to get out Friday, sat, and sun. to hunt some other spots that I haven't been in a while that hold more mature deer.
-
weird there's not more from Albany county. there's big deer there as it's bow only and access is really really tough.

because she can shoot and hunt better than you? ....or because she's now married? haha
