I just love how you fellas point to other devices that can kill, yet can never blame a gun which is used most often. Here's another one for you. It happened in England and pretty much led to the ban of private ownership of handguns there. So buckle up boys, because you are going to be in for a ride this time! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunblane_school_massacre

Did any of these prior school shootings have 20 six and seven year olds shot dead and filled up with several bullet holes each?? Didn't go thru your list, but I highly doubt it.

That would surely get me to stop frequenting this forum, so it may not be all bad! LOL

You guys are wishing your lives away waiting for the next season to come around. I for one won't waste a minute thinking about next season. There is a whole lot of living to be done in between.

I really hope they have something constructive to say here. Knowing them they will call a press conference to tell us what make/model/caliber principals and teachers should carry to stop such rampages in the future.

I'm not talking about NYS. Go anywhere else in the country and getting a CCW is not very difficult at all. Having everyone carry is not the solution in my opinion, it will sooner or later just lead to more mayhem. Of course the solution for the pro-gun side is to arm everyone and go back to the days of the old west. -

I simply don't think owning a pistol should automatically give one the right to carry it at all times. Sorry. Two different issues in my view. It's not the law currently in most places, so I don't think a CC should be made any easier. I personally think it's too easy in many places already. -

I'd throw in the pistol, although not the CC. I would keep that separate, since I simply don't trust every idiot out there to carry one at all times. This would be an improvement over MANY existing pistol laws that many have to deal with, but of course the NRA and others don't think we need any NEW gun laws!!!!!!!!! -

No doubt plenty of guns already in circulation to wreck havoc for years. This don't mean that putting MORE into easy circulation is any better, however. -

Easy. A federal gun card for everyone. NO one be it in a private transaction, or thru a dealer can purchase a gun without one. To get this gun card, one must go thru a background check and take a gun safety course, with some actual training on a range. I have said it before. The gun manufacturers don't sell their guns directly to criminals. Criminals obviously get them in one way or another from original LEGAL purchasers. Yeah, some are gotten thru stealing, but that is not always the case. Without some sort of regulations on private sales, the sky is the limit to what criminals can buy without any questions asked. NO, this will not stop all crime, and no one here ever said it would, but I'll be damned if it wouldn't be a better system than we currently have. We have hundreds and thousands of gun laws in this country, most of them are worth $#!+, when what's illegal in one state is perfectly legal in another. Without some uniformity we can't get anywhere. So here you go Doc and everyone. Now lets hear how you don't think this would help? -
I guess their deaf ears are due to too many gunshots over the years?? LOL I know I won't change their opinions. Only here to tell them that not ALL gun owners think the same way, that's all. Of course one will get ostracized for not being lock-step with them, but I honestly could give a flying F@*k. I call things the way I see them, whether someone wants to agree with me or not.

I am talking civilized nations here, like Great Britain, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Norway, etc. I am not freaking talking about Lebanon, Afghanistan or other fleabag nations. Yeah, we had a plane fly into NYC and a bombing in Oklahoma. Name some others??? While there are approximately 80+ murders with firearms each day. You guys can really come up with some BS, I will give you that. Meanwhile you can't fathom that the millions of guns floating around this country just might make it a bit easier for someone to murder in comparison to other methods?? You guys have sang the same lame tune for a LONG time, but like I said, you better buckle up this time, because things are about to change for you. Good luck getting your points of view across to those who are really out to get you!
-
So if guns weren't part of the problem, why don't other civilized nations have nearly a fraction of the murders we do in this country?? Do we simply have more murderous tendencies here or what? If people would still kill as much even without guns, why don't other nations with strict gun laws have a murder rate closer to ours?? You would think they would, right? I simply will NEVER believe that guns don't make it easier, because they do. We had one person here saying that if piano wire was used in a murder we would want to ban pianos. What a lame freaking analogy. Let him show us even one piano wire murder, while guns murder scores of people each and every day in this country. I do want to keep my guns as much as the next guy, but I can see the reality here. I simply won't pretend that the easy availability of guns in this country don't play a part in all this.

You can get 30 round magazines or more for them at most any on-line gun store these days. Even Cabelas. They are quite cheap too. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Tapco-AR15-30-Round-Polymer-Magazine/709090.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3DAR-15%2Bmagazines%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=AR-15+magazines&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products

Of course it's an assumption. Not like I haven't been around the mindset of many of you for a good many years now to know the thought process, though. Hey, they wanted to burn outdoor writer Jim Zumbo at the stake for making a remark about black rifles a few years back, so I couldn't imagine the same people are now happy with Dick's decision. We shall see how it all pans out.

And it will be our own fault that we allowed the shooting world, which for years was the domain of law abiding hunters and target shooters to turn into a world of para-military guns and paraphernalia. Do you think this type of equipments original intents is to kill deer, rabbits, or shoot at paper targets, or was it intended to be used in some sort of armed conflict?? Do we need the jackboots, high capacity magazines, helmets and bullet-proof vests for hunting or plinking or even basic self-defense? You see that is the problem. Be it true or not, image and perception goes a LONG way in this world of sound bites and one line twitter posts. More than ever we have started to be viewed as a bunch of looneys getting all ready for some sort of armagedon with these type of guns and equipment and thus from now on we will forever be on the fringe of civilized society. I for one am very SAD that we shooters went down this road, because I knew where it would lead. Now it's up to you fellas to convince society otherwise. Good luck!

Good for you. I bet you will be in the minority here, though.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/18/justice/connecticut-dicks-guns/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 I reckon most of you will stop buying from Dick's now?? LOL

That's the same old tune you and the NRA continue to sing, so tell me something I haven't heard already?? Think what you want, but I guarantee you that this old worn out song won't work for much longer. This last incident most especially struck a nerve with many out there, even many gun owners. I don't know for sure what will happen, but I suggest you and everyone else who thinks like you buckle up, for you WILL be in for a ride in the not too distant future that you may not like.
