  1. You do have a point. Maybe I'll ask BIz to borrow his Weatherby for this years miss during gun season. At least I won't be going out of pocket for the cost of that gun, yet still look good missing! LOL
  2. I have no clue where this will all end, it sure seems like some new crap comes out daily in the Trump presidency. Yeah, I get that the liberal media is out trying to get him, but I also know that Trump himself is far from squeaky clean. He came in boasting of how he will drain the swamp, yet he has associated himself with a different cast of bottom dwelling algae suckers his entire life it seems. So, who the hell knows what is the truth and what isn't? You sure as hell ain't getting it on CNN or FOX!!
  3. And then shooting at game is a completely different ballgame also. Plenty of expert shots at the range can't hit anything in the hunting fields. Same goes for gun shooters. Why spend $1,500 on a bow when you can miss that deer just the same with a $300 bow?? LOL
  4. He was looking for a bottle that would keep his water cold!
  5. I think I'll wait until Cabelas sells your product so I can use my Cabelas points to purchase it. Plus I can get my money back no questions asked if the product doesn't work! LOL
  6. OK, ignore my post then. I may have been smoking the same stuff as the native Americans when I posted it! LOL. I think I saw Bigfoot in the NYC subway this morning. Or maybe it was some hairy homeless guy with a size 19 shoe??
  7. I could name at least one of them! LOL
  8. The people making these "sightings" probably had one too many drinks and the foul odor was most likely their own stinky feet! The native Americans who claimed to have seen Bigfoot similarly may have had something other than tobacco in their pipes which made them think they saw one. Other than peoples claims there is hardly an ounce of any real evidence. Yes, this country is vast, but there probably isn't an inch of it that hasn't been seen whether on foot or from the air. If Bigfoot did exist he would have been photographed, shot or trapped LONG ago.
  9. Where will the hunts take place? Did QDMA chapter members find some private lands for them to hunt?
  10. Alex Jones is an idiot. Maybe you should listen to this Jones instead?
  11. I would agree with your point on NY newspapers, but candidates purchase air time for TV commercials. Obviously Cuomo is spending a fortune since I am seeing several commercials for him each day in the short amount of time I watch TV. Looks like the republicans aren't spending a dime since I haven't seen one yet for their candidate. And I do wonder why Cuomo is spending so much for air time since most folks, including people on this forum think he is such a shoe in to win the election? Maybe some private polls that he might have conducted are showing some vulnerabilities? Maybe he thinks that Nixon will run as a third party candidate and split the democratic vote? Seems to me the republicans are doing JACK$#!+ to try to take advantage of any opportunity they may have here.
  12. I tell you guys what. You guys have a hell of lot more courage than I would have to consume these mushrooms you pluck out of the wild!! One mistake in identifying these things and you can start foaming at the mouth and going into convulsions if not something worse!! NO thanks. I am not the biggest mushroom fan to begin with, but I will stick to the store bought kind when I do decide to eat some.
  13. Don't forget Pataki served 3 terms. That is why I simply can't understand why the republicans seem to have completely thrown in the towel in this years election. When Pataki could beat his father I fail to believe that Andrew couldn't be ousted if some effort was put into it. I've said this several times before, the NYC and surrounded area vote could be surmounted if everyone upstate votes. The republicans could even capitalize on this current Cuomo gaff and maybe turn some votes to their side. Without some effort it won't happen. I see freaking Cuomo commercial every night, while I have yet to see one commercial for the Republican candidate. It just boggles my mind that absolutely NO effort is being put into this election.
  14. Curious to see what if anything the third stooge of the Cuomo clan, Chris Cuomo over at CNN will be saying about his brothers flap? Chris typically has diarrhea of the mouth on every other topic.
  15. My wife never showed any interest in it and I surely never pushed it on her. I am actually happy as a clam that she doesn't hunt. It's about the only thing I have left that doesn't involve her, so I prefer to keep it that way. It's an escape from the human condition for me.
  16. Unless one is very wealthy, I don't think there are too many women who'd be happy with the husband spending up to $25K of the family finances to shoot an elephant. I honestly don't know if I could blame them either. I'd surely be pissed if she wanted to spend that much on jewelry or some other girlie nonsense.
  17. My guess would be that you simply couldn't make a lens of equal quality in the US for the same price. That's the same reason most things are imported these days. Lots of stuff made in China, Philippines and other Asian nations can be of very good quality. Yeah, they have their cheap stuff too, but the better items can match or surpass the quality that we'd get if it were made here and at a lot cheaper cost. This is where tariffs on imports from these countries probably won't solve anything. Yeah, it will keep some working in this country, but the folks buying these products will be paying considerably more, so in the end you'll have one segment of our society winning, while another will be losing.
  18. Maybe the administrators of this site should turn the heart symbol of the "Like" button around to match your T-shirt! At least in this thread. LOL
  19. From the excitement I am seeing here I think the NYS DEC would get more hunters to read the hunting rules and regulations if they came wrapped like that. Her right cheek would be the map of Adirondacks and her left cheek western NY.
  20. Some can't wait for their kids to move out, but I'm not one of them. My kids are still too young to be moving out, but it will be one SAD day for me when that day comes.
  21. Yes, as is pretty much the entire Catskill range.
  22. The problem with Delaware county as in many areas of the Catskills is the antler restriction rule and that doe permits are almost impossible to get. For the gun only hunter during regular season there isn't much one can legally shoot at, so having all that public land isn't much help I'm afraid. I know for a fact that many hunters in the area have given up hunting altogether because of these reasons. If they can't legally shoot at most of the deer they are lucky enough to get to see, what's the point in hunting at all? Can't really blame any of them.
  23. Giving money to the NRA will not solve the Cuomo problem that gun owners in this state have. The NRA has not been very effective here, just look at our gun laws compared to other states. Electing his sorry a$$ out of office this November would be much more preferable. He could be kicked out in less than 3 months if everyone (most especially the upstate folks) get to the booths to vote him out!
  24. It ain't over until the fat lady sings. It is unlikely that the Yankees will make up 9.5 games this late in the season, but winning the east or to have a phenomenal season like the Red Sox have been having is far from a guaranteed ticket to the World Series. Lou Piniella's 2001 Seattle Mariners won 116 games during the season yet failed to make the WS by losing to the Yankees in the ALCS 4 games to 1.
  25. I've always believed that one could kill a crapload MORE and BIGGER deer within a stones throw from roads and homes if one is lucky enough to have such spots in comparison to those who need to travel miles to get to their spot in the middle of nowhere.
